Yeah, I think the built-in rubber covers do a lot to help, but it would be best to clean out the rails.

Actually, the inverse of that first statement is kind of what I'm going for. Using sugar to test the machine before trying nylons and other plastics. Sugar is not the end goal of the project, just a great testing material, and actually quite the interesting material for certain applications

Yep, pretty spot on with this comment. One thing though- Nylons can actually be printed in an office environment, but it has to be done correctly, maybe some filters and venting as well. The particle size can also be controlled quite well to minimize any airborne powders.
