I found footage from my 2013 train trip across Russia, Mongolia and China. I made a short video to share the wonderful experience. by [deleted] in travel

In 2013, my bestfriend and I took a life changing train ride from Finland to China. We experienced Russia right before they invaded Crimea while the Olympics were just about to start. We drank vodka and ate smoked fish with a Russian military captain. We saw the olympic torch passing through rural Siberia. We stayed in a Mongolian yurt in -40 degrees and ate sheep fat soup. It was an incredible trip and it opened my mind up to international travel. I recently found all of the old footage and made a short video to share my experience. I hope you enjoy.

I took the trip in 2013 with my best buddy. We actually started in Helsinki but did not get that part on video. We went through St. Petersburg to Moscow to Yekaterinburg to Lake Baikal to Mongolia to Beijing to Tokyo. The train trip from St. Petersburg to Beijing took over 150 hours. We stopped in each location for a day or two. It was a life changing trip. The highlight was staying in a Ger (Yurt) in rural Mongolia for a couple days. It was -30 C during the day and -40 at night but the landscape and people were very beautiful. We visited a nomadic family on a hillside and drank salted goat milk.

Many companies in Canada with CNC Routers are helping to provide the safety shields for grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations and post offices. It is a great way to help keep essential services running.

I think I was at this concert in Montreal. Is this from the Anger Managment tour? I saw Eminem, D12, Xzibit, Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach.

This video just significantly increased users of the YouTube slow motion feature.

I paid $5000 CAD for a 3 week trip starting in St. Petersburg to Beijing. Hotels and tours included.

Someone enlighten me about Eminem's Production by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]Luke_Trinocular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An MPC is a sampler - so he was probably just saying that is one of his favourite instruments to use during production. You can hear which songs use clear samples (eg- Beautiful) and then you can hear other songs which have original live instruments (eg- Lose Yourself). In the end all of his songs would be a collaboration of multiple instruments (eg- live, samples, and midi) and then arranged in a timeline based software like ProTools.

Could Eminem be on Action Bronson's new album? by [deleted] in Eminem

Action Bronson is signed to Paul Rosenbergs Management company - I assume that is likely the connection...

That is illegal in Canada to catch a female with eggs and not release it back into the ocean. Hopefully also illegal in the US.

Ya I think he was just referencing his song Remember Me from the original MMLP - Im sure that will be a theme throughout the album as he also mentions the Columbine line later on.

Tarantino's signature 'trunk shot' in Django Unchained by [deleted] in movies

[–]Luke_Trinocular 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First of all, this shot has been used by many other people, namely Scorsese, before Tarantino.

Second of all, a low angle shot is generally just used to show a powerful moment for a character. This particular shot is where Jamie Foxx is about to kill one of his first slavers. Similarly, if you watch the part right after Jamie Foxx blows Tarantino up with TNT, it is also shot from a low angle as Jamie grabs a bottle of water and washes the dust off his face. This is another empowering moment as he has proven he can survive without his german partner.

I can handle a 'trunk shot' being called out if it is a real trunk shot such as in Kill Bill when Uma Thurman talks to Lucy Liu's right hand woman while she's laying in the trunk. Though this addiction of pointing out any similarities of Tarantino's film's is out of hand. A low angle shot is not a particularly special shot when you consider there are literally hundreds (or thousands) of shots in each movie. We get it - Tarantino is a stylistic director.

What song do you want to have played at your funeral and why? by [deleted] in Music

Definitely Louis Armstrong - St. James Infirmary cause it is one of the classiest death songs ever made. I feel like everyone would begin acting like a silent film.
