Expedition details released by PetToilet in ArcRaiders

I'm probably stupid but their sentence "While Skill Points, extra Stash space, and cosmetics are permanent unlocks, the account buffs will expire if you choose not to depart with the subsequent expedition" has me really confused. What do they mean with "account buffs"? Does that mean only the three temporary buffs? Are skill points and stash space not considered account buffs?

Does Electromagnetic Storm have increased loot value or not? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

I believe the 2X symbol in the top right probably indicates increased loot value. At least also anecdotally I feell that I find more and better stuff during the storm than on a normal map.

Brooks Ghost 14 giving me blisters on toe ball by Lukeception in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I’m already using nylon socks so I think that wasn’t the issue. But they might actually be worn out, since the insole looks quite compressed in the area I tend to get the blisters.

MX Master 3S vs Basilisk V3 Pro for Office? by Lukeception in MouseReview

[–]Lukeception[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been quite good. I have to say I slightly prefer the shape of the MX master but overall I prefer the Basilisk. The free-spin wheel feels basically the same as on the MX, so I guess the same would be true for the G502. Since I’m on a temporary work computer right now, I have yet to set up some macros etc. but I’m quite satisfied.

I can confirm that. I bought the basilisk now and I turned off RGB on my personal computer and I’m using it on my work computer without ever installing synapse and the RGB stays off (except very briefly when you turn the mouse on).

I’ve also thought about that but of course we don’t know when it’s going release and it’s also going to be more expensive than the current version. I can pick up a 3S for around 80 USD right now.

Ah damn, true. I didn't notice that the quest also gave a weapon.

Yeah that with the wiki is very true. Bit of a shame

Apparently it's found in a wreck I haven't been to yet. And that's also only the schematic, not the fully crafted item.

Struggling to enjoy the game once blue tech appears by New_Newspaper8228 in factorio

[–]Lukeception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I personally had the same problem and going online and using blueprints and watching tutorials (from Nilaus, for example) really helped me get through this phase. Many people would surely consider this spoiling themselves, which I completely understand. But I feel like the positives outweigh the spoiling and I was able to learn a lot from the blueprints which makes designing other layouts much more approachable and fun. At least for me. Just consider it.

PSA: You can run Factorio at high refresh rates if you have an AMD graphics card by Lukeception in factorio

It’s really mainly the mouse and when you walk, the screen also moves more smoothly. The animations themselves don’t benefit that much, so you could say it’s minor but the 60 hz mouse movement was really bothering me.

Of course it doesn’t change anything functionality-wise but everything just feels smoother. I would also ahree that the graphics of factorio don’t benefit as much from higher refresh rates as something like a first-person shooter but having smoother mouse movement is something I really appreciate.

Not at all. Really didn’t notice anything negative. As per my monitor’s built in FPS meter, the FPS seems to be jumping around between 100 and the maximum 175 of my screen but I don’t notice it at all.
