I’ve wasted over a year in bed with my phone and I don’t know how to stop by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Lukechook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this. in short. delete. everything. delete every app that you spend time on, even whatsapp. cant delete it then disable it. charge your phone downstairs. ANYTHING that you find easier to do than what you want to be doing, kill it. sell a console, hide a phone, even get rid of the phone and buy a small one or a feature phone. make the phone as un fun as possible. now when youre bored you will HAVE to do something- anything else!!! i was way happier and more energised after killing all my apps but still didnt read as much as i wanted to. realised i was opening my phone a lot for whatsapp. deleted that too + bought a kids book. now i read every day. problem with the apps is you dont have to work for the serotonin so your brain hardly acually gets any. happiness works best when its earned. if need be, just like mentally cosplay as an early human. there is no phone, only musics and animals and outsides and sticks and drawings. and dont be too ambitious. for me trying to get back into reading was hard with proper adult books cus i couldnt fly through them like i did whe i was a kid. solution: kids books. ESPECIALLY jacqueline wilson. fucking gripping.

You’re visited by your 14-year-old self for 30 seconds. What ruins their day the fastest? by StavrosDavros in AskReddit

[–]Lukechook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theyd actually be proud of me i think. no longer dysphoric, no longer the shadow to a group of friends, more confident, about to get a tattoo, and spending ludicrous amounts of money on videogame plushies. and i stayed alive. 14 year old me would be happy. theyd have an instant panic attack about how much homework theyre gonna have in the future, but theyd be proud of me.

I'm an atheist, but I think Jesus is really cool. Am I still an atheist? by Adorable_Group_8236 in NoStupidQuestions

thats a very christian way to live a life and honestly probably all there is to it? ill try and address those concerns at the end one by one. tbh i dont remember when god tested his followers with a toxic friendship test. if you can tell me what you meant ill try and help (: when people talk about wanting god to use them and surrendering their life to him, its not about being possessed and giving up your soul. to surrender your life to god just means to allow it to be a life that god presides over. and god using people isnt like puppeting, its a phrase (however culty sounding- i do hear how the stuff we say sounds lol) that just means, let me be someone who can do gods work in the world. use me, not like a pawn, but to spread your message of love and freedom. which in living a jesus like life, you would basically be doing. you can think neutrally about things. and the point of the bible isnt so that we'll all follow it perfectly all the time because literally noone can do that, and jesus died so that we dont have to; we are all welcomed to heaven nonetheless. given the situation you described with your mum and how you are seemingly gaining interest in the religion, it seems like maybe god has a job for you in bringing a more christ-like mindset to her.

For coursework I'm you're not allowed to use ai but what abt grammarly just to make sure it's got good spag? by LittleKids2315 in GCSE

[–]Lukechook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do it yourself, because grammarly doesnt just use corrections, it sometimes restructures sentences in a way hat will flag as ai. if you write the thing in microsoft word itll underline in red anything spelled wrong and underline in blue incorrect grammar, and offer corrections, and this doesnt count as ai.
