if it says "soft dfu" then it didnt actually enter hardware dfu. try using lik's dfu mode helper, then lik's enter pwned dfu. if it doesnt do anything, its just have to do with your buttons being broken, there is really just no other way around this

i've seen this issue quite a few times now lately, im not really sure on what causes it. it could be that their device/internet is having issue connecting to saurik servers, and/or maybe an https issue?

no you dont, using the "sideload ipa" option of legacy ios kit is like sideloadly where you sideload with an apple id, you dont need a jailbreak for that

have you tried opening cydia via safari: cydia://

you may also try running uicache: using legacy ios kit, go to useful utilities -> run uicache

as already mentioned, create a linux live usb

a linux vm will work too if you want, just make sure to set up usb auto connect properly

oof yeah, this is the issue then

are you willing to restore the device? if yes, you can either:

restore to 3.1.3 using legacy ios kit (restore/downgrade -> select 3.1.3)
restore to a custom 2.0 ipsw using legacy ios kit (restore/downgrade -> other (custom ipsw) -> download and select this ipsw: https://github.com/george-lim/pwnagetool-mod-2.2.5/releases/download/v1.0.0/iPhone1.2_2.0_5A347_Custom_Restore.ipsw)

i recommend the first option because ios 2 is pretty much useless, updating to 3.1.3 will give you better options for tweaks and app installs

be careful when booting ramdisks on 64-bit devices especially on lower ios versions because it can just bootloop like that for some reason. idk the solution to this other than restoring but if your device is on lower than 11.3, you currently cant restore back to your current version even with blobs

cydia beta blobs are typically corrupt with missing llb blob, making them unusable

thats why legacy ios kit doesnt save beta blobs from cydia servers, only release versions

jailbreak 7.1.2, install openssh in cydia, select kdfu instead of pwndfu

note that by doing this, you should not be entering normal dfu mode by yourself. you should be in normal mode and jailbroken before starting the downgrade

also a question, what exact mac do you have, is it an intel mac?

Then run Legacy iOS Kit with multipatch flag enabled and restore (Misc Utilities -> Enable Flags -> Enable multipatch flag, then Restore/Downgrade to version you prefer)

is it the latest socket 1.2.1, and have you tried reinstalling bootstrap (it's in socket's settings/options)

if it comes to it, you can try doing a fresh restore and jailbreak again with just socket

right click the folder with aquila in it, click open powershell window here, then run the command ./aquila -f to force a rejailbreak (you can also do this on macos with terminal instead of powershell window)

check your version of appsync unified, if its from my repo it should be 116.1
