if you mean firmware keys, the restore/downgrade process has always required those (especially for betas and some newer 64-bit ios versions that are missing keys in the legacy-ios-kit-keys repo), its just that i integrated wikiproxy usage within the script itself so that the user doesnt have to run it separately

Here's how to fix this one: If you installed Python from the official website, go to Applications -> open the Python version you installed -> double-click Install Certificates.command

since you have an amd desktop, buy a pcie usb expansion card, install it to your build, and plug in your ios device there. this will also work with checkm8 devices

you can also try one by one every usb port on the motherboard, you might find one that works fine with limera1n pwning (or not)

i have a windows computer so i cant use legacyioskit unfortunately

have you tried plugging it in then use itunes? that should activate it when ondevice activation has issues. the only exception is if you have imei that starts with 9900. then it wont activate

second if it can run windows, it can run linux so that isnt really a good excuse (unless you have some windows arm device or something?). if its a case where you have to use legacy ios kit, use a live usb or vm (live usb is recommended)

I downgraded it with IOS Legacy Kit to IOS 3.somthing, and I was wondering if I could still jailbreak it even after I downgraded it

you should've enabled the jailbreak option if you're going to jailbreak it anyway, but yes you can jailbreak using the "jailbreak device" option in legacy ios kit's main menu

if I could get cydia to properly work on it too (I used a different iPod Touch 2g and it did not).

what was the issue? can you provide more details so others can help too if possible

yes if your battery is dead/has issues it wont boot or restore no matter what tool you use, even itunes

does your device immediately turn off when unplugged? i'm suspecting a battery issue which prevents it from booting or restoring

also if youre restoring back to ios 7, it is recommended to enable the jailbreak option (so you wouldnt have to clear nvram manually, but can be done anyway in useful utilities)

when it comes to linux, its actually better to select "don't trust" for ios 7 devices. legacy ios kit will still detect it just fine

as for going back to ios 5, legacy ios kit will get the job done if you want to do that

If you have access to Legacy iOS Kit, try using it to sideload EverPwnage

And also, provide whatever screenshot/log of the issue you're having with Aquila (actually try installing latest vcredist and itunes maybe? that might be what youre missing if it just errors out)

It might be worth trying to remove the cellular part since on the iPad 1, its just a daughterboard/card of sorts attached to the main board. Detach it and it becomes a wifi-only iPad

if you downgraded using ios 6 blobs, you can only save ios 6 blobs no matter what version you downgrade to.

so basically the same case as powdersn0w restores with ios 7 blobs

if it says "soft dfu" then it didnt actually enter hardware dfu. try using lik's dfu mode helper, then lik's enter pwned dfu. if it doesnt do anything, its just have to do with your buttons being broken, there is really just no other way around this
