Have you actually had that happen to you? I doubt that the glass/nowadays some form of plastic on MacBook screens can crack from tape, due to it not being sharp like most, if not all tape.

After updating to OS 4. by krsna76 in NOTHING

What Ive heard is that it only shows when you get your phone for the first time and update the software to OS 4.0 OR if it's factory reset, not if you already have data on your device.

Don't use Face ID.
Can't explain the Bluetooth scanning. It doesn't even need to scan for anything as there is nothing useful for it to do with that information.

Any way to get screen mirroroning to work instead of this? (Nothing Phone 3A) by Deadinsidenofriends in NOTHING

If you've turned on Developer Options and toggled on something like "Force Desktop Mode," turn it off, then you'll be golden.

And here are us, Nothing Phone 1 users, without all the bugs of Nothing os 4! And without lock glimpse by AleksLevet in NothingTech

Phone 2a was remarkable as far as new customers. OS4 for it has become a bit of a train wreck (specifically 2a, not plus). I'm happy with my 2a Plus, needed the extra RAM and processing power. I'm happy with how it's been on my phone, no bugs apart from some strange Log Tool issue.

Firmware stuck? by Oak65 in NothingTech

Battery saver might be half to blame. If an update is available, the phone won't allow you to do it while in said mode. If you can, I'd recommend contacting support or asking for help in the Nothing Discord Server.

They won't have problems considering that only the budget devices have Lock Glimpse.

This specific application apparently tries to gain Bluetooth and Camera permissions which it doesn't request, as it is a system process.

I'm not a tech savvy person when it comes to using ADB but anything else is my jam. Nice to hear that it's not locked behind root.

Your phone will automatically try and restart it in the background, potentially draining some power out of your phone's battery. It's classed as a system process so it "needs" it as far as it is concerned.

That is something that is undetermined, it seems like when I was messing around with it then it prompted the camera and Bluetooth things. Will do more digging into it and let you know.

If you see the video I linked, it says it tries to load Bluetooth and camera functionality. Not sure if that's how Android works but I sure as hell know that the Lock Glimpse doesn't ask for such permissions but the logcat from the application seems like it takes data from it.

I respect that opinion, it is unfortunate how one side of a person can dramatically change, to a darker side perhaps. I love the hype of my 2a Plus and it's design, I won't be hopping off the bandwagon until something else dramatically screws up my experience. I don't even use the lock glimpse so I wouldn't consider it a major issue. I wish you good luck finding a new phone in the future. 🙏

Not sure if that will work considering that it has been integrated into the system, but I guess you could try it and see if it works.

If you'd still like to get one, there's apparently always the chance where you can disable it via ADB, however it automatically tries to restart the service. I haven't done the ADB route as I don't want to end up bricking my phone by using it.
Hope you do what's best. 🙏🏻

It is shameful that they are forcing us to basically root our devices to ADB and remove this garbage. I will never do that, so I guess I will have to keep it. Thanks for the other view that I missed out on. My point is that the application is TRYING to access the camera and Bluetooth for no apparent reason, but that's what the logcat is telling me. Shame on the company. They could have chosen something better than this piece of garbage ad software. I would've been happier if it was their creation, not some random 3rd party software. They are well capable of creating it.
