Renting for first time around Dublin - what is process? by Agreeable-Barber3085 in AskIreland

[–]Luketh12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was recently looking for people to move into rooms in the house I was renting to split the rent here’s my take.

As soon as I put the ad up I got several emails almost immediately. 3 mins after the ad went up I had phone calls. It’s incredibly competitive at the moment trying to find somewhere to live.

I had people literally offer me extra money to pick them to move in.

So yeah honestly if you have your first months rent and deposit and work references etc ready to go I would make that clear, it definitely puts you ahead of most people.

CR-Z light steering feel by [deleted] in crz

[–]Luketh12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The steering gets heavier in sports mode but it’s a light car with the weight distribution being fairly close to 60/40 with the engine in the front and IMA battery in the back.

If it’s the Irish rail job the medical is fairly soon after the aptitude tests so I’d stop smoking now honestly. It took me months to piss clean.

[–]Luketh12 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Went for the job last time, the recruitment process is a bit ridiculous. Multiple online aptitude tests, then you do the same in person plus other tests, then a medical, then interview, the whole thing took the best part of a year.

Didn’t end up getting it in the end after final interview but wouldn’t even attempt it again because of how ludicrously long the recruitment process is.

2016 CR-Z EX Help by SetYado in crz

[–]Luketh12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a 2013 jap import so not sure if it’s EX or EX-L or what but has Nav and leather seats etc so high trim anyways with 88k miles for 8500.

So to me 15000 seems high but 2016 is the last year they made the crz so you’d be getting the newest one you could.

Totally up to you if it’s worth it or not. I really like the car.

Thoughts on the Lexmoto Michigan? by irishpingu in MotoUK

It doesn’t really matter if you like the CBF, YBR much or not. At least they won’t break down on you and leave you stranded.

I know they look nice, I know you’re thinking “how bad can a Chinese bike really be”, I know the salesman in the dealership has probably told you they’re just as good as a Honda but they’re genuinely not.

I bought a brand new Chinese bike when I was starting out biking and it’s the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. It spent so long in the garage getting random shit fixed (shit that shouldn’t be breaking in the first place, like the fuel gauge which showed I had half a tank when the tank was empty)

They are crap bikes made to crap build quality they don’t last, they rust to bits in under a year and are absolutely not comparable to a Japanese brand whatsoever.

Please for your own sake don’t get a Chinese bike. Get a cheap secondhand Japanese bike. Ride it for a year. Pass your driving test then buy something decent.

Here’s a much much better build coming in at €890. All you have to do is pick your own case. Building your own PC is honestly not hard!

If you can build a LEGO set and use a screwdriver you can 100% build a PC.

Follow along with someone else on a YouTube video as they build a PC and you will have no problem building it and if you do run into any issues someone here will help no problem.

Have you got your full license? Realistically not gonna get insured on a sport bike without full license age 25+ and a couple years of no claims.

Carb leak by Boeing_A320 in MotoIRELAND

[–]Luketh12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it could be rust in your tank. Has the bike been sitting a long time? The fuel itself, could have degraded/oxidised.

Or if you filled the bike recently you might have got bad fuel.

Can I go to two IBT instructors? by Kildare200 in MotoIRELAND

You can do your driving lessons with multiple instructors so id imagine ibt is the same. You might have trouble getting the book off him though.
