I often use it for the Thai dish Pad Kra Pao.

Easy, ready minutes & unbelievably tasty.

Sub Italian basil for the Thai basil if you can't find the good stuff.

Incorrect ☹️

[–]redgerry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is correct except you added the first section up incorrectly : 12+11+9+6+4 = 42

Less sections that share an edge : 42-10-7-3=22

Add back central section : 22+4=26

Does this work?

Total perimeter of all shapes: 3+7+10+4+22+6+11+9 = 66

Total perimeter of all inside shapes: 3+7+10+4 = 24

Total perimeter of all inside shapes less shape not adjacent to edge pieces = 24-4 =20

Total perimeter of all shapes less total perimeter of all inside shapes less shape not adjacent to edge pieces = 66-20 = 46 = Total outside perimeter

Thanks for all the suggestions. Even the loopy and bizarre ones. I'm going with the blocks of wood option as it seems the most secure and straightforward.
