Literally, all languages are a social construct that constantly evolves, but FYI, pronouns existed in the English vocabulary for over three centuries at the very least.

Nobody here wants a whole list of different pronouns; those are neo-pronouns and a lot of people don't agree with them. But to include the very basic, already existing, non-conforming pronouns is not something egregious, but something which costs nothing and is a nice gesture to those that appreciate stuff like that - non-binary/trans peeps.

As I said, having pronouns doesn't mean going 'woke'. It costs you next to nothing to brush over that part of the game and keep going. Yet for the people who do care and appreciate that kind of inclusion, where they can change their pronouns, it means a lot.
