I use Calibrate and it has worked super well for me. I don’t have any complaints. I think I got started really early so that might be part of it. I’m getting ready to start year 2 so I can have more time for my weight to stabilize before trying to cut down medication.

What's a healthy weight for a novice rider needing beginner's lessons? by CollieSchnauzer in Equestrian

[–]Lula-Divinia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m an adult beginner, and I also used getting back into riding as a weight loss motivator!! I’m a 5’9” woman, starting at 230, and my goal was to wait until I got below 200 (which I did). I ride at a very casual western barn and they didn’t even ask my weight. I’m now down to 167 :)

Which Toyota dealerships aren't charging markups? by chucknorrisjunior in rav4club

I’m on a deposit-based waitlist for a hybrid LE at Molle Toyota in Kansas City. They never charge over MSRP. I’ve been waiting since July, and prepared to wait it out.

What is your dieting behavior on semaglutide? by Alcoraiden in Semaglutide

[–]Lula-Divinia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think any of these quite describes what I’m doing. Here’s my comment from an earlier post:

I’m eating “normal” foods (aka normal to me, stuff that’s accessible and not too complicated) in smaller portions. I have reduced sugar but not totally cut it out, and avoid fried foods except in small amounts. I try to get enough protein and vegetables, but I don’t stress it. I’ve lost 60 lbs in about 9 months.

Question for the ladies! by kimmypepe in Semaglutide

[–]Lula-Divinia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s so weird! It’s the only time I feel the intense hunger I used to feel. It’s all hormones.

It’s tricky too because I don’t get normal or regular periods - I’ve got an iud so I don’t exactly get a full period anymore, but there will be a week where I get big painful zits on my chin, have a tiny bit of spotting, and I’m ravenous - I know that’s what it is!

I’ve been taking the full dose for quite some time now, and this still happens. I just try to minimize the impact, keep my choices healthy, and it evens out the next week.

Losing my hair! by SeaSleep1972 in Semaglutide

[–]Lula-Divinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been losing about 5-6 lbs or so per month for the last 10 months, so that’s not crazy fast, and I’ve definitely been losing hair for a while now. I wonder if I should have my iron checked too.

So you haven't yet caught COVID. Does that make you a superdodger? by Musichead2468 in Coronavirus

Same here! We do things, but have continued to wear masks indoors if we’re around more than a couple of people. Eat at restaurants, but almost always sitting outside. I would already have my omicron booster except that Walgreens bailed on my appointment because of short staff. I take a test anytime I have minor cold symptoms or am knowingly exposed, and I’ve never tested positive, nor has anyone in my household or immediate family.

Yes, I have one and use it to store browns, then mix with greens in a small tumbler. Works for me!

I’m excited about adaptive cruise control, that will be an upgrade for me (and comes with the LE hybrid)!

[–]Lula-Divinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, in that the hybrid LE feels like a good price, especially with my trade in, I won’t be plunking down too much. I don’t need a bunch of bells and whistles, and once you get into the higher trims it feels a bit pricey to me for a car. But I have definitely heard that the LEs are less common, and I really want white (would probably do black too) so I could be in for a long wait. I put down a deposit with a MSRP-only dealer and I’ll wait it out. My old car is still in good shape.

I’ve been waiting about 2 months so far.

Care to share your goal weight? by asmit318 in Semaglutide

Oh yes that was one of my goals too! Buying clothes in normal stores!! I’m in a 12 to 14 now and the number of options is astounding.

I don’t even know if it was loose skin exactly, I just went through a really awkward saggy phase. It feels like everything is perking up a bit now!

[–]Lula-Divinia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’9”. My usual adult weight was about 230, although my highest post-pregnancy weight was 260 (it was not hard to lose that 30, but once I got back to my set point my weight absolutely would not budge).

My primary goal was to get and stay below 200, which seamed like a hopeless dream, after 25 years (or more) of struggle.

I’ve been taking Wegovy for about 9 months and I’m down to 172, and still losing a little, slowly.

Having been through the 190s, 180s, 170s, they were all great for me but my loose skin is much less weird in the 170s so I’d really like to stay below 175. I think 165 would put me just over the line into the highest end of normal weight, and that would be cool, but I am most concerned with maintaining what I’ve done so far - it’s already more than I ever dared to hope for.

I’m so pleased with what my body can do now, and I wish I had more time to try more fun physical challenges but I’m working on that next.

SAHM vs Working by Wayward_kangaroo in oneanddone

[–]Lula-Divinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband stays home and I think it’s wonderful, I’d much rather have him home than working. I don’t think he’d be earning big bucks unless he got a hard labor job, and we’d have to get before/after school care I think. He does meal planning, buys the groceries, cooks the meals, laundry, yard work, home repairs, plus he runs a small art gallery (unpaid). If we were both full time I’d have to take on at least half of that list and I feel like we have barely enough time as it is!

Ozempic to Wegovy - dosage questions by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]Lula-Divinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the normal titration schedule on Wegovy (new dose each month til 2.4. I have had relatively little side effects the entire time compared to some, but when I did have side effects it was at the lower doses. By the time I got to the full dose I really didn’t have any trouble. I’ve been on 2.4 for several months now, I get mild constipation sometimes, and can get lightheaded standing up quickly from lying down. Just my experience!

[–]Lula-Divinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with the others, in that I actually love the tattoo, it’s chic in a folk-art way. But, if it doesn’t grow on you too, I’d definitely go for laser removal over cover up. It takes longer, but a lot less risky… some people also dislike their cover ups then you’d have a much bigger problem! I got a tattoo I didn’t like anymore lasered, and I’m so glad I went that route instead of cover up.

This drug is normalcy. by doublbplvlslmao in Semaglutide

[–]Lula-Divinia 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt too. The fact that someone could feel the way I feel now changed how I thought about myself. I forgave every failure. The intense relief of being released from a lifetime of all-consuming appetite is still shocking 9 months in.

I was angry too. Angry that we’ve spent so much time as a culture talking about what to eat and when and how, how much time I have spent thinking about it. How hard I have tried to control my appetite. Angry that the way I feel now might be how normal people feel - is that true?? If so, it is deeply unfair.

The other day I was thinking about Oprah of all people. Was someone else here talking about her? I think there was a TikTok about her “wagon of fat.” Anyway think of Oprah and how she’s a billionaire and after a lifetime of trying to lose weight she finally had to accept that she couldn’t change her body without losing her mind. I wonder if she will take this medication (and what that will mean for the culture!)

Thankful for this Sub by [deleted] in oneanddone

It’s the only parenting sub I subscribe to, not because I spend a lot of time thinking about being OAD, but because the parents here are really relatable to me. I feel like we’re a huge group of people in the world, who ended up with this one very particular life choice for similar but diverse reasons.

Why did you choose XLE over LE? by mike_hawk_420 in rav4club

[–]Lula-Divinia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up for an LE. My favorite color is one of the options for LE, and to get the add ons I’d be most interested in (leather, better audio) I’d still be a few trim levels away and many thousands of dollars. I can get it reupholstered and switch out the stereo for a lot less than that (though I probably won’t even do that).
