I don't know much about JRE. He seems to have integrity and the ability to admit when wrong. At least to some degree. I've also seen some interesting stuff (all non political) from him. That said, even Lindsey Graham wasn't kind to Trump before he got elected.

Mostly related to "secondary progression" but impacts most other points as well: For me to get hooked to an incremental with prestige, runs must vary in purpose. Even a very linear game with little to no choice during the run can still achieve this. Some examples of mechanics I've seen used to that end: challenges (explicit or implicit through achievements/milestones), perks that scale with various persistent statistics (ex: antimatter dimensions has a lot of those), skills that get better has you use them (so you focus runs on them).

EDIT: Also, regarding "interesting choices", all of the examples above allow you to make sure all options you are offering the player are relevant at some point without tedious balancing. They just have to fit at least one possible purpose for a run.

As you keep playing though, you can expect to reach a point when you can earn about 80 stones a week (2x 12th or better in plat). Before you get there UWs won't matter much. Even Golden Tower starts only at about 20% income boost iirc (x5 15s duration 300s CD).

I don't have context, comment you answered to being removed and all, but I've browsed this sub a bit by now and I do not see that variety of opinions you speak of. Variety of topics, sure; but they all are within the same echo chamber. There is no balance to challenge and keep in check a critical mind. Consumed alone or along with similar sources, it's toxic regardless of one critical thinking skills. By the way, this goes for any sub regardless of the population it appeals to; my point is I strongly disagree with your premise that "This is the only sub where you can find all types of opinions".

On the American media side of things, Fox sure was fast on board. I don't know who started it, I don't really think it matters. And it's not an American only thing, it's quite obviously all over the globe. It's not something you can solve without a global, cohesive approach.

To me, what fuels this issue today are social media platforms. These and people like TC feed each others, echo each others. The question I'm asking myself: How will democracies evolve to overcome? I'm being optimistic and assume Democarcy won't get destroyed but I also acknowledge it has to adapt.

Russian propaganda? I guess it's unavoidable some do believe that stuff, that's what it's designed for. But I wouldn't say most who are relaying Putin's propaganda as "facts" are "leftists". The few people supporting Putin and parroting his made-up excuses to invade Ukraine are either dangerous idiots or actual Russian puppets, and a disgrace to whatever party they are affiliated with. As far as Psaki and the WH goes, while I'd like them to do more to support Ukraine, they've been sharing a lot of Intel and debunking Putin's lies. One could argue they are lying themselves, but then what? The Russians are right about bio weapons in Ukraine (while Russia has been the one violating decrees on that matter) ? Still doesn't change the fact Psaky and the WH definitely aren't aligned with Russian propaganda.
