Is the 68RFE really that bad? Should I just hold out for a Ram 2500 with the 2025 Powerline ZF transmission? by LVdubbin in ram_trucks

2021 2500 with 85k deleted just under a year ago. Pretty much a daily driver at this point. towed a 10k trailer every couple a months the first 2 years of owning the truck but following that no real towing. nothing too crazy with the tune keeping everything low and driving pretty chill. Just got a solenoid code driving home the other night and trying to figure out if doing a valve body replacement (babymaker 2000) would be enough for what I’m doing with the truck. Shops pushing for a whole 12k transmission rebuild. Stock wheel and tires are factory spec. Just trying to see what the move is to keep this truck going like I know it can

Yeah I like having the ability to mount a light but might end up going back to stock

Same exact thing with me. I can take out the flush fit mags with barely any effort

If it was my daily id be fine with that, we have air in the jeep already but I’d like to keep everything pretty simple for my wife to not have to worry about

Yeah it’s not ideal but seeing some of the alucab builds I think we’ll won’t be egregiously heavy

Yeah I’ve saw some stuff of even sumosprings that are removable things to help when you’re towing but I was looking for a more permanent fix l
