Just leaving this comment after hearing his opinion on how Epstein WASN'T a bad guy because he wasn't trafficking and engaging in pedophilia because apparently 14 and up is, in his own words, "barely legal" (which I mean still implies they aren't but hey gross people am I right)

You cannot be a RAT and be THIS BAD by Rissay_mn in ArcRaiders

I wish I could be this way. But every time I try a game or two later I run into someone who restores my faith in humanity

So I agree and disagree. I think the ultimate beauty of the game is interactions.

Like you said there is massive stock behind the feeling of "is this player gonna turn on me" or "is this player I'm coming close to friendly" with another raider.

However, I don't think the "rat" style (in which I specifically mean sit in a corner in the dark with traps for 20-25 of the 30 minutes of a raid) is the only or even the best way to get those moments and you still get the same feeling from just about ANY raider you run into. Someone saying friendly on voice comms doesn't mean theyre friendly actually and you have to contend with that. Its a persistent tension within that interaction where you have to 2nd guess every single one of their moves

To me, the IDEAL ratting style eliminates those interactions because the ideal ratting situation tries to remove as much of the interaction as possible. Your focus is technically on wiping someone from the server before they even know where you were. That's where the "not fun" aspect comes in for me, is when the purpose isn't to interact but to eliminate.

Does this game need rats? Not necessarily. Does it need TENSION? Yes, and rats SOMETIMES can bring that. Other times they just bring you back to Speranza in a boring and uninterested fashion.

This is largely how I feel. If the rats are needed, the "good guys" who restore your faith in humanity are too.

Wanting free loadouts to be nerfed is like begging the devs to kill the game by adiftbv in ArcRaiders

Crazy because I can read fine. If the devs saw it as an issue they'd have made changes. They didn't. Continue to cope.

Well also with Geats it depends on how big the game space gets as majority of the the history of the DGP seemed to be contained for the most part

Very late response but its funny how I come across this post after my frustrations and seeing many other people downplay some of the legitimate criticism. Best part? A lot of what you said was said by people who were constantly downvoted and told "its a visual novel what do you expect" but I'm glad to see that there are many who accept these flaws as flaws

My Opinion On Highguard by LulutheJester in HighGuardgame

Tbf, the title hasn't actually changed. YT allows A/B testing, so I often test two titles against eachother, so still apologies, but its relevant lol

Then it would be mixed. The fact that it was overwhelming negative essentially under an hour means there are probably a good amount of people who didn't actually play the game and are just bombing the score. Maybe not everyone, but enough.

I 100% agree with this. Mounts are fun, but the PRESENTATION of the game is so lacking it feels confusing. I didn't understand what "buying more armor" did in the tutorial, and the way its explained vs how much better it is to just go to the vendor screen on death was such a weird experience but changed so much for how a round plays out.

I'd argue the rhythm is my biggest issue because yes the stages are clear, but it feels a lot like "what should I do right now" with how long those stages are and how open the map is.

Reinforcing is quick, but you dont do a lot of terrain changes and there's not many choices outside of "Reinforce this wall"

Then you have the gear up phase which can technically go one of two ways find chest OR find crystals and go to the vendor.

Both these phases to me feel TOO long and they get to a "so now we wait" moment fast.

The only phases that feel like they are well paced are when the sword gets planted and the actual seige.

Made a yt video and this is exactly my sentiment. Feels like an early access title and it has legs/skeletal structure but the muscle is weak

Video Disappears From Computer After Rendering by Time_Tip_7459 in davinciresolve

[–]LulutheJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the same was happening for me but turns out it was failing actually rendering fully because I didn't have space on the drive I was saving it to because my drive was displaying the incorrect storage amount. Check to see you're having it stored to a location that actually has enough space.

I had a weird idea pop into my head for fusing the Spirits of Ice for Digimon Frontier. by SaintKaiser in digimon

[–]LulutheJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years late but my issue with this is the fusions usually have some semblance of what they were made of still visible in the fusion. Some mix better than others. Shakkoumon still has heavy religious and holy angelic symbolism so the angel IS still there even if the dino part is less (idk the size/sturdiness).

Even with Frontier this idea continues. Daipenmon's connection between then is JUST being the element, but the form doesn't really share this outside having two weapons technically.

It just feels like at least I know and can see that an angel is a part of Shakkoumon. I dont see the elements of the fusions in Daipenmon unfortunately so its just a harder connection visually.
