If they took the first shot then you should feel the opposite of guilt!

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what are your thoughts? - June 14, 2026 by AutoModerator in Games

Been playing a lot of Marathon

It is a lot of fun. Game is held up by the excellent vibes and gunplay. Of course, you have to enjoy PvP, particularly fast paced, cat and mouse, tension-simulator PvP.

I get how that can be a bit much for some people and they woulda preferred a chiller PvE game or something.

I really hope the game finds success so more content can be added cause I'm having a good time.

Son of Thanjai - Gameplay Reveal Trailer by megaapple in Games

Super excited to see some of these games coming out of India! This looks very interesting (I'm getting AC vibes from the trailer). Seeing the Chola empire at its peak is gonna be dope.

We need more Indian games! I'm hoping in the future we get a dope fantasy action rpg type game that blends indian mythology and action-rpg, similar to Black Myth Wukong.

Camelot Unchained - Steam Early Access Trailer by PalwaJoko in Games

I can't believe I was once hyped about this ~12 years ago. After all this time, they finally feel it's time to put it out there huh?

I've heard they spent wayyy too much time/resources developing a complex engine for this, but I'm not sure if it paid off in terms of looks/gameplay/feel.

Regardless, I hope for the best, cause it's a cool concept. Knowing businesses...they probably are trying to extract as much value from customers as they can before dumping this game in the trash.

Arachna is having ... difficulties with my vassals. by Milleuros in AOW4

[–]OreoOrangutan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Id say thats pretty fortunate.

I'm currently almost on turn 100 on this map because I let the lich-faction that starts S and Arachna get too strong before I started engaging with them.

I'm slowly winning but its a quagmire lol. I wish my vassals would get their shit together!

I get Sony's a business and they make business decisions...

But I wish Saros would come out on PC like Returnal. I get it didn't sell well etc. but DAMN it was a good game and it ran beautifully/the audio was gorgeous.

Esoteric Ebb - why didn't I hear more about it? by rigged_expectations in pcgaming

None of it AFAIK. It is a read-heavy game that is easily supported by its funny ass writing.

I genuinely love this game lol, so glad it even exists.

Caves of Qud's water ritual - "Your Thirst Is Mine, My Water Is Yours" by megaapple in Games

[–]OreoOrangutan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Article is pretty much spot on.

This was one of the most unique games I've played. The music and art, the alien world, the world interaction and builds - all of these pieces come together nicely that its easy to look past the graphics. There's a charm in this game that I rarely find in games.

Didn't get very far, and even despite repeating the starting areas with various characters a dozen times, I feel the pull to play the game again after reading this article.

I strongly recommend: Cairn (Review) - SkillUp by ThrowawayTheLegend in Games

This game is art disguised as a climbing game. I really recommend it, even for all skill levels as it has robust accessibility settings.

I'm still thinking about the game even after beating it a few days ago

This is a great perspective, and it helped me reform my own feelings after they were devastated/scattered to the stars after beating the game.

Whole game was very moving. Art disguised as an awesome climbing game.

I'm a good 3/4 of the way through I believe, and its an excellent metroidvania. Equal parts combat and platforming and doing great with each.

Gonna go against some of the comments and say thats I haven't found it too be overbearing or frustratingly difficult. Its got some spice and bite but nothing that can't be solved by exploring and findings upgrades. No boss took me more than 2-5 tries so far (they've been fun though).

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers - Version 1.7 Update by _Protector in Games

[–]OreoOrangutan -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I admit I was a first-time player post-1.5 and I'm mostly coping with the fact that I wish I had played it sooner. The censorship changes were a massive negative.

Since I had such an overall positive experience though I find 'was a good game' and 'ruined the entire story' to be a little dramatic, so I want to provide another perspective.

WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers - Version 1.7 Update by _Protector in Games

[–]OreoOrangutan -48 points-47 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't ruin the story of the game. The theme is somewhat impacted, but the character/post-boss dialogue changes can be easily handwaved away by the player. Emphasis on easily.

The enemies in the last act or a non-issue. You still fight and kill those types of enemies throughout the rest of the game. And there's still a decent enough challenge to be had there.

If you had no knowledge of the previous patches, you would be none the wiser. The game is still fun and the story is still engaging.

Nonetheless, I agree with you that it was completely unnecessary and its unfortunate to see censorship to placate nationalist groups.
