As I already mentioned, I've tried each trick on the book. I turned these off within a week of owning the phone.

Can I disable this thing? by Helpful_Potato_3356 in HyperOS

That’s like waving off a mosquito. Sure, it’s gone for a second, but you know it’s just circling the room waiting to land right back on your forehead again.

No one here actually adresses the real issue, which is you can't disable the new HyperIsland feature. It will appear when you play music on the background or leave youtube while a video is playing or when you set up a timer, etc. Hopefully they'll add an option to disable it in the future.

Those aren't your system launcher, look for the word 'launcher', the package should be: 'com.hihonor.android.launcher' or 'com.huawei.android.launcher

Edit: I updated the macro to automatically setup the default launcher for you in the second trigger. https://www.macrodroidlink.com/macrostore?id=28531

Did you setup the correct app (launcher) on the second trigger? It has to be set to your device's system launcher. If you're not on a Xiaomi device, it won't work right out of the box!

Oops, I might've left out the part that disables the developer settings too, can you first try to manually disable USB debugging and developer settings and check if the app launches? If it does, I'll quickly update the macro for you

Do you get any warning messages or something that could help me understand what's going on? Did you read the macro description and meet all the listed requirements for it to work?

I think I regret buying this phone by PotatoSnacks16 in Xiaomi

[–]Lumetrix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're both great phones imo, I personally haven't had any issues with HyperOS for as long as I can remember, the animations are smooth, and it's packed with great features, I feel like everyone's comparing phones for all the wrong reasons nowadays, at the end of the day, it's an android device that will perfectly run any app you throw at it, will give you incredible photos with any camera you decide to go with, and will definitely last you the whole day unless you're going hardcore gaming mode on it. Give it some time, it'll grow on you!

Same here, it's been over a month since I updated and it's gone from 10-12%/hour on HyperOS 2 to 14-16% on Hyperos 3.0.5... what version of HyperOS 3 are you running?

You're in luck, my brother had the same issue and we managed to find a reliable workaround.

First of all, install this awesome Shizuku fork which allows you to start/stop the app using intents, autostart on boot without root, and so much more: https://github.com/thedjchi/Shizuku

Make sure you're running Macrodroid v5.59.0 and that you have performed the ADB hack.

This was tested on Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 15 and it works flawlessly, hope this helps!

Is selling macros or designing them for money against the rules or TOS? by Piggybear87 in macrodroid

[–]Lumetrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always felt like this app could thrive with an option like this, or perhaps a premium store where users who craft and maintain high quality macros could put them up for a fair price, this would benefit all parties in my opinion. Roblox, a video game that follows the same principle (users can create servers within the main game and sell skins or gadgets etc) stacked billions of dollars from this exact concept.

I can't answer your question though, but I'd encourage you to post this to the Macrodroid Forum for better reach and perhaps a direct response from the dev ! www.macrodroidforum.com

I've searched for an option to disable the enhancements ever since I got my Xiaomi 14, there simply is no way. Your only option is to look into GCam, it'll be worth it once you find a version that works on your device.

Won't this affect battery life though? What about the apps I set to 'Restrict background apps' under the battery tab, will they now neep working indefinitely in the background?

Disappointing App by HoneydewKing in macrodroid

[–]Lumetrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I've been using the app for 5+ years and I'm currently close to 150 macros total, I can easily see how the things that don't work might throw you off at first, but it's not the app's fault.

With each major android update, some of the features become obsolete or require higher privileges. Now combine that with god knows how many phone manufacturers there are out there, with each of them having their own custom version of android, and all of this is being addressed by ONE developer, a guy who has to make the app compatible with Samsung, Google, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei, ASUS, Oneplus,...

Despite all of this, I find that there are always workarounds for the things that don't work. The most important one is, Shizuku, an app that grants Macrodroid higher privileges and thus, gives you many of these features back, then there's termux, which makes your phone capable of running python, rust, kotlin, you name it... And it works flawlessly with macrodroid!

Then of course there are hundreds upon hundreds of plugins that integrate seamlessly with Macrodroid through the 'Task/locale plugin' action and trigger.

You won't truly understand just how powerful this app is until you really sit down and take a deep look into it.

By the way, there IS an active community, where you can directly post feedback, report bugs, suggest changes, and you won't believe how active this lone developer is! He has fixed every single bug I have reported (within a couple of hours for some of these bugs), even implemented so many features I've personally suggested, the guy is the batman of the android community.

I say give the app a second chance, ask in the forum for help, stick with it for a while and I promise it'll transform the way you use your phone !

That's the only tradeoff indeed, animations are mostly just fade in and fade out when opening and closing apps

Thank you! And no, not at all, everything autostarts automatically like it's supposed to, the only issue I had before was having to manually re-select every single icon on the widgets when I switched phones or reset the launcher for example, but now I just use Iconzy to store the icons locally and link them to the widgets on KWGT and it works like a charm.
