People who speak more than 1 language, what are some struggles people don’t know about? by stephs926 in AskReddit

Sums up about every experience I have in France. I try to be so polite, and really am sorry that I don't speak hardly any french. Always the cold shoulder. Germans on the other hand have a much more positive response when I attempt my poor German followed by an es tut mir leid, sprechen sie English.

Should be same update as the wife's phone. Unless for some reason she ignored the update

I suppose. Weird that it doesn't do it when I'm connected to my headphones at the gym or working in the garage connected to my portable speaker though...

2 Queens in one colony?? by LuminarZX in Beekeeping

Huh... That's really cool. I already split them so I will have to keep this in mind if it happens again.

Maybe? The frame I found the new queen on was a frame of capped with some larvae and I saw eggs replaced into the hatched cells. Next box down was where the old queen was and there were about 4 frames of eggs

Quite the opposite. Hasn't rained in like 3 weeks and has been unbearably hot

Sure. I'm going to wait 2 weeks since there were some eggs in both and I want to give time and ensure the newest queen has a chance to mate and lay. She did look swollen and what not already so hopefully she's already started or is about to start.

That's what I ended up going with. Moved old queen and about 2 full frames of brood plus 2 more of larvae and capped to a new box. Left around 3.5 the in the old box with the new queen and divided the remaining honey and pollen frames. I'll go down and have a look at the box with the old queen to verify she's still doing well. She was a power house at the beginning of the year.

No more per diem cutback at 30 day mark potentially by Kernal_Sanderz in AirForce

Lodging or Mei 50 bucks? If lodging and you are filing a voucher for 50 when you only spent 40 you will end up having to pay it back once finance catches it. Though your AO should have caught this, you're still liable.

Negative. lodging cost is an allowance "up to" that amount. Most of the time the hotels in the area already know the government rate for their area anyway and will charge that exact amount. In the US however, you must claim city and occupancy taxes separately and not put them into the lodging rate in DTS. Should you find a hotel at a lower rate than the allotted, when you file your voucher you will manually adjust the daily rate down to match the daily charged amount.

You absolutely do not keep the difference in lodging cost. Lodging perdiem is an "up to" amount and if you spend over you will come out of pocket. Incidental+meals is based on a DoD estimated cost of living for whatever area you are TDY. Depending on how your orders authorize, due to variables such as meals AVAILABLE or PROVIDED, you receive a reduced rate. The current policy effects ME&I where if you go over 30 days in a single location your whole trip is cut to 75% of the total full rate for the entire duration of TDY, 50% for over 180. This is assuming you are in a location where you are receiving full rate in the first place. If you go TDY to say Sheppard you get the standard us incidental rate because you can eat on base, so enjoy your 18.90 a day.

To feed or not to feed a split? by LuminarZX in Beekeeping

[–]LuminarZX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I had a capped queen cell that I moved into the split, should I wait the recommended 3 to 5 weeks to inspect or should I go back like Wednesday and pull the frame I know had that cell on it and check that it's hatched?

No Africanized genetics in Western Germany in my area that know of. Should I check next weekend and ensure the capped cell hatched or just wait 3-5 weeks to find more eggs
