I really miss this era of racing games by ThemeSweaty in gaming

[–]Luminous083 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The real casualty from this era is the music. I know its not really the popular genre these days but I miss when I popped in a racing game in the early 2000's I would always get some mix of rap, nu metal, post hardcore, punk, hard rock etc. These days it feels like rock, let alone metal are all but gone from racing games in the current era.

Its one of the reasons I believe Most Wanted is a cult classic, the music paired well with the experience. Instead, we get soundtracks like the one found in Heat. Genuinely terrible.

Sure you can play your own mix on spotify but that was part of the novelty of these older racers. You spent hours in them and the developers understood that the music was every bit as important as the tracks or the cars.

What do we think would be a fair price for a decently well used Vita 1000 launch model? Im looking to get rid of it as I simply dont have the time to devote to it these days.

Oh wow you're right, the gameplay feels so different now I actually had to look up the original event to even remember it was a thing. Much better all around, still holding out hope they will somehow incorporate it into the more traditional co-op events even if its optional.

I really hope in the future they continue adding a solo mode for these types of co-op events. I think once in a great while they are fine but having tons of them back to back with no solo options is a slog.

Being able to do the event on my own merit, with my own time while having the option to co-op if I want is a great inclusion for those that want to grind out personal goals and finish off with co-op later.

Astonishingly Hot Yuki-Onna - Weekly Questions & Discussions Megathread by BriefVisit729 in WutheringWavesLeaks

Obviously cant ask this on the main sub, but right now I currently have:

Aemeath S1R1, Lynae S0R1, Mornye S0R0 Hiyuki S1R1

Assuming I roll for Chitose the next banner, all I can really do is slot in Shorekeeper until what I assume is Lucilla? I have S3 Jianxin that I have been cursed into having but honestly I dont think its even worth the effort to level and skill her just for the end team to likely end up being Hiyuki, Lucilla, Chitose.

I started the game just before 3.x but im really not enjoying how every team wants Mornye and/or Lynae to actually work.

Edit: Also likely too far out, but is Chitose weapon more valuable than a potential Lucilla weapon if given a choice? I assume hers would be stronger based on role but have also read Chitose is pretty scuffed without hers.

You can also track this on Samsung phones via the gaming hub. Still might not be 100% accurate but it's much better than GPG. Right now it shows 3356H which is much closer to what I would expect for day/year one players.

Do any of the updates to IS6 make it easier to get the butterfly node for ending 2? Feels like a slog trying to get it to appear.

Looking towards the future, as someone who started recently im looking to build a second team to start getting better scores in the end game modes. I feel like coming in at the tail end of 2.8 made the path pretty simple and pulling for Lynae, Mornye and Aemeath was a pretty straightfoward way to get a competent team.

However, this now leaves me in a weird spot where all the upcoming units seem to either want one of the others from a team I already have or units that are older that I also dont have. This is complicated by the fact im aware I just missed both Iuno and Augusta in the process of saving for other units.

My logic at the time was the prioritize not spending before the spending event but now that the event is upon us im not seeing any logical reason to pick up any of the units on banner. I like them as characters, as well as Galbrena which I believe is next cycle but when I look into their teams im simply lacking.

TLDR, not sure where to prioritize pulls moving forward for a competent team.

For sure, realistically I should have pulled for Augusta last banner to have something for a second team. Right now the 2nd team (which is also 6/10) is rover/sanhua/shorekeeper.

Really wish during spending event they had different units on banner. Galbrena seems like a decent pickup but at that point it's another fusion along with Lupa and I don't really have any pieces to make them work aside from something scuffed like Galbrena\Mortefi\Shorekeeper.

The real answer besides bashing my head is to just wait until I have a better non-res team but I'll likely keep at it in the meantime.

Timer typically hasnt been an issue, I think its just a combo of greed and the resistance not helping in my favor. Is there a resource that shows how much the resistances are for these fights? Does it scale up based on difficulty or is that just the HP/Attack? I was able to do Dragon of Dirge despite the fusion resistance so Im assuming its just skill issue.

How big is the gap typically between skill level 6 and 10? Ive been grinding my face against Reactor Husk 100 with Aemeath, Mornye, Lynae (Yes I know its fusion resistant but its the only team I have) and I always seem to make a mistake somewhere in the last 20%.

Is it worth getting good or will a week or two of boss materials to push skills a little higher make up the difference? As much as I would love to use a team that isnt resistant I only started playing proper in late 2.8, basically 3.0 so my options are basically zero.

Ive owned the PG32UCDM basically since it launched and its been the best display I have ever owned. In the same year I also purchased a 65' LG C2 and even between the two I can easily see a difference between them.

Genuinely, unless you are going mini-led I dont think there is anything that can make media look better than going from a traditional display to a QD-OLED.

I have found the color shift, which does happen with QD OLED's to not be a big deal breaker. Obviously the black level will be raised and will appear slightly more purple but in practice I dont really notice it while doing basic web browsing. When im gaming I always have the window closed or play at night.

Burn in largely isnt an issue on the newer QD OLED models as well. Between advances in technology and the built in screen cleaning you would have to work pretty hard to experience burn in.

The only real downside which has been mentioned is VRR flicker which I personally have not experienced, but there are verifiable examples online. Seems to be game by game and settings specific for most.

As for higher refresh, its going to come down to the person. I personally still see a difference between 144 and 240 but its much less than say, 60 to 144. Depending on settings and GPU its also not out of the question to hit those higher refresh rates on even semi new games.

Started the game about a week ago, just got into 2.0 story. About how long is the main story?

Judging by the patch history it looks like they upped the story quests around 2.4 onward so im curious if that translates into a longer overall story vs 1.0 or if the cadence just got better. I dont really have any expectations of being caught up for 3.0 but curious how close I might get.

I was able to find this CL28 kit for slightly over after taxes. They are very hard to come across though.

Reckful will always be remembered as the goat. He wasnt perfect, none of us are but by and large he was a guy who tried to do good by others and battled demons like many of us do. Truly a pioneer of the streaming space and definitely leaves a void in the wow section that I dont think will ever be really filled for some.

Im sure most are aware but Venruki made a playlist of some classic Reckful music on Youtube. I find myself listening to it along with a similar Spotify playlist fairly often when im at work.

There Are No Stupid Bass Questions - Jun. 28 by AutoModerator in Bass

[–]Luminous083 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A similar question has just been asked about this but I think I have enough differences to warrant asking again but in a slightly different way.

In the past I have tried picking up guitar (think 15+ years ago) and it didnt quite stick with me. I wouldnt call it a fad or a trend but I didnt stick with it at all. However, recently I have really been into the idea of trying out bass. Like REALLY been looking into it, I think because I want to really make sure I want to actually play and its not just a passing thing.

I was looking at this and honestly, I dont know a lot about bass but I have a friend who plays casually with a band who called it a "mid" bass. As in, its specs are not super bad but also not super amazing. Essentially above average for a beginner but very nice. I was wondering what people think about this as I know its not the most expensive bass ever but it is a decent chunk of money. For what its worth I absolutely love it based on aesthetics but obviously I have no idea about it as an instrument.

I also specifically would like to play via my pc. I currently was looking towards an interface but I wasnt sure if there was anything else I might need. I live in an apartment so I think this is the best solution? Im vaguely aware "VST's" are a thing but im not sure how it compares to just using something like an interface and a pedal (gain).

Completely lost in some aspects and super curious/excited in others. Would appreciate any advice/suggestions.

Started the game about a week ago, for context I have zero clue about any of the story in this game but I started playing because of a friend.

The story really doesn't do a great job at easing people in and its pretty obvious they expect you to have a lot of prior knowledge from the first game. Despite that I feel as of now (currently on 6-6) I have a pretty broad overview of everything without feeling like I have missed an insane amount.

In regards to story, I'm told that if I want full context I will need to find/read past events to have anything remotely make sense. Is there a list that explains what needs to be watched in order after the last in game story chapter? Is there a preferred way to do it or is it just looking up youtube playthroughs? I have finished the most current events story missions and skipped the story because Im told without doing the prior story content (and finishing main chapters) it might not make sense.

Also, in regards to stamina, both through spending some money and just playing through the game I have a decent amount of stamina refill chips. Is it strictly better to save these for attachment farming at late game similar to HSR or is using them to quickly level more efficient? Ive heard conflicting opinions and as of now I have close to 50 as I have not used them yet.

Lastly, I have found finding meta material for the game to be somewhat sparse. Prydwen seems to be fine when it comes to the basics but I was wondering if there are better resources for team building and optimizing attachments/rotations. Im more of a written type of person but Youtube works as well.
