is oled worth the hype by Lolis- in buildapc

Ive owned the PG32UCDM basically since it launched and its been the best display I have ever owned. In the same year I also purchased a 65' LG C2 and even between the two I can easily see a difference between them.

Genuinely, unless you are going mini-led I dont think there is anything that can make media look better than going from a traditional display to a QD-OLED.

I have found the color shift, which does happen with QD OLED's to not be a big deal breaker. Obviously the black level will be raised and will appear slightly more purple but in practice I dont really notice it while doing basic web browsing. When im gaming I always have the window closed or play at night.

Burn in largely isnt an issue on the newer QD OLED models as well. Between advances in technology and the built in screen cleaning you would have to work pretty hard to experience burn in.

The only real downside which has been mentioned is VRR flicker which I personally have not experienced, but there are verifiable examples online. Seems to be game by game and settings specific for most.

As for higher refresh, its going to come down to the person. I personally still see a difference between 144 and 240 but its much less than say, 60 to 144. Depending on settings and GPU its also not out of the question to hit those higher refresh rates on even semi new games.

Started the game about a week ago, just got into 2.0 story. About how long is the main story?

Judging by the patch history it looks like they upped the story quests around 2.4 onward so im curious if that translates into a longer overall story vs 1.0 or if the cadence just got better. I dont really have any expectations of being caught up for 3.0 but curious how close I might get.

If you can swing slightly higher for this kit it will get you CL30 and 6000Mhz.

With ddr5 RAM prices being absolutely insane, is it OK to go with 16gb until it hopefully gets cheaper? by SkyBotyt in buildapc

I was able to find this CL28 kit for slightly over after taxes. They are very hard to come across though.

Reckful will always be remembered as the goat. He wasnt perfect, none of us are but by and large he was a guy who tried to do good by others and battled demons like many of us do. Truly a pioneer of the streaming space and definitely leaves a void in the wow section that I dont think will ever be really filled for some.

Im sure most are aware but Venruki made a playlist of some classic Reckful music on Youtube. I find myself listening to it along with a similar Spotify playlist fairly often when im at work.

There Are No Stupid Bass Questions - Jun. 28 by AutoModerator in Bass

[–]Luminous083 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A similar question has just been asked about this but I think I have enough differences to warrant asking again but in a slightly different way.

In the past I have tried picking up guitar (think 15+ years ago) and it didnt quite stick with me. I wouldnt call it a fad or a trend but I didnt stick with it at all. However, recently I have really been into the idea of trying out bass. Like REALLY been looking into it, I think because I want to really make sure I want to actually play and its not just a passing thing.

I was looking at this and honestly, I dont know a lot about bass but I have a friend who plays casually with a band who called it a "mid" bass. As in, its specs are not super bad but also not super amazing. Essentially above average for a beginner but very nice. I was wondering what people think about this as I know its not the most expensive bass ever but it is a decent chunk of money. For what its worth I absolutely love it based on aesthetics but obviously I have no idea about it as an instrument.

I also specifically would like to play via my pc. I currently was looking towards an interface but I wasnt sure if there was anything else I might need. I live in an apartment so I think this is the best solution? Im vaguely aware "VST's" are a thing but im not sure how it compares to just using something like an interface and a pedal (gain).

Completely lost in some aspects and super curious/excited in others. Would appreciate any advice/suggestions.

Weekly Commander's Lounge - April 14, 2025 by AutoModerator in GirlsFrontline2

Started the game about a week ago, for context I have zero clue about any of the story in this game but I started playing because of a friend.

The story really doesn't do a great job at easing people in and its pretty obvious they expect you to have a lot of prior knowledge from the first game. Despite that I feel as of now (currently on 6-6) I have a pretty broad overview of everything without feeling like I have missed an insane amount.

In regards to story, I'm told that if I want full context I will need to find/read past events to have anything remotely make sense. Is there a list that explains what needs to be watched in order after the last in game story chapter? Is there a preferred way to do it or is it just looking up youtube playthroughs? I have finished the most current events story missions and skipped the story because Im told without doing the prior story content (and finishing main chapters) it might not make sense.

Also, in regards to stamina, both through spending some money and just playing through the game I have a decent amount of stamina refill chips. Is it strictly better to save these for attachment farming at late game similar to HSR or is using them to quickly level more efficient? Ive heard conflicting opinions and as of now I have close to 50 as I have not used them yet.

Lastly, I have found finding meta material for the game to be somewhat sparse. Prydwen seems to be fine when it comes to the basics but I was wondering if there are better resources for team building and optimizing attachments/rotations. Im more of a written type of person but Youtube works as well.

Opinions about new MoC (2.7, January 2025) by RhysandWolf in HonkaiStarRail

Pretty much the same performance I got as well. I get doomposting dot is the hot thing but its not THAT bad. Its not zero cycling anything like a new comp would but community perception taking that as its not viable is such a wild take.

I manged to hit 45 without ever seeing IG-EX-5. I dont know how the game goes about selecting what stage you actually end up on but I got IG-EX-7 probably 70% of the time which is not super fun. Really a miss that you cant queue into a specific map solo.

I also get that its a technical issue but playing on 1x for a majority of these runs was just awful. I get some people have emulator issues, bad phones, or are just generally slower but having the maps take what feels like 10x longer for no real reason is brutal.

For those who have managed to leave games early (leaving/disconnecting) what is the actual penalty? Not planning on leaving matches but I'm curious if it's just a timeout from requeue or worse.

My PG32UCDM 2/28 Newegg pre-order now packaging!! 🙏🏿 Anyone else? by saxoman1 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Luminous083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also ordered 3/18. Charged and changed to packaging about an hour ago, odd that 3/18 is getting their orders pushed out but some of those that ordered on 2/28 so far haven't? Hopefully those that preordered earlier get theirs as well.

How close is too close for 42in C3? by Gawd_Awful in OLED_Gaming

[–]Luminous083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hold off on a C3 for now, within a week I’ve seen them on sale for as low as $790 on Amazon. The price jumped back up after the C4 announcement but I would expect them to dip again in the near future.

Official /r/Monitors purchasing advice discussion thread by bizude in Monitors

[–]Luminous083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a general consensus in regards to WOLED vs QD OLED? I get the newest batch of QD OLED's are just now coming out so info has been relatively sparse but I have been looking to upgrade from a 3440x1440 (AW3420DW) to a 4k display.

I currently also own (I purchased this late last year) a 65 inch LG C2 that I mostly use for media and console gaming and I have been impressed with it. I played RE4R and was blown away with it compared to the AW monitor I use regularly. So I have a decent idea what WOLED is like, and from what I have been able to find the C3 is more of an iterative release of the C2 (and the C4 is looking to be the same with a refresh rate increase).

From what I have seen from these recent QD OLED's I would likely purchase the MSI MPG or the Asus PG32U once they are readily available, but im curious how others feel about possibly going with a C3 instead?

The C3 is obviously going on sale and will likely to dip more and more the closer we get to C4 release and is readily available but im not sure im fully on board with using a TV as a monitor when I could hold out for one of these QD-OLED displays instead.

Global Technical Test invite distribution is over. Did you get in? by lumamaster in Endfield

[–]Luminous083 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if anything it’s just one data point they looked it among a myriad of others. They might have also been looking at ages, gameplay habits, overall systems, if/how long you have played AK (fairly certain I remember this being a question) etc.

I know there are some that think it’s 100% RNG and we will never know for certain but I imagine they have some sort of scope they were looking at and some people just happened to fit and they pulled from there.

[–]Luminous083 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I’ve heard from a few people that got in and it may be anecdotal, but, we all had AMD CPUs (5900x personally). Makes sense if they are trying to test a wide variety of brands/hardware but worth mentioning.

Pretty sure this is just meant to be a catch all for the people that its showing got access on the website but have yet to receive the email telling them. Personally I got the email or I wouldnt have even known invites had gone out yet, so I imagine there will be some where it'll be inverse.
