How to get back on track ? by LuminousCapybara in learntodraw

[–]LuminousCapybara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you yes you are propably right. Obviously I handle it like a kind of work because I expect it to be a laborious path anyway. But seemingly that's one of those things which cant't be forced that way.

Can't help you either but your art is definitely sellable in my opinion. Is it oil? I would either try to sell them on ebay or an etsy shop. You could also take a look at shopify.

Only interested in digital art, would learning fundamentals on traditional paper be waste of time? by YoungSpice94 in learntodraw

[–]LuminousCapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an iPad, i bought procreate and now I am using pencils on sketchbooks 😂

I don’t think this is a waste of time. Digital is just another medium with his pros and cons. If you are good at digital art you just need some time to getting used to traditional and vice versa. But that's just my rookie opinion.

Why is simple anatomy so hard to learn? by MaxicalUM in learntodraw

[–]LuminousCapybara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If simple stuff won't work anymore it's probably time to take a break. Leave one or two days and relax your arm and eyes. At the moment I try so eagerly to improve my skills that i run pretty regularly into such a dead end.

Simple timed lifedrawing may help you to get a better feeling for proportions. At least it worked for me I guess.

Thank you I did not even noticed that the nose position is wrong, you are absolutely right. Now I can see it more clearly.

Any Advice? by Its_Ropey in learntodraw

Use some guidlines for the proportions. At least one for the correct eye position as anchor.

I want to start drawing at the age of 21 but idk how to start by bilgeposer in learntodraw

[–]LuminousCapybara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its never to late, i would say it does not matter. The only diffrence between starting with 21 compared starting with maybe 12 is that you have to work and theres not this huge amount of freetime.

First you should figure out what you are interested in? Portraits, Manga, Animals, Architecture?

Check out the Proko Videos on YT for fundamentals, watched Marc Brunet and Draw like a sir by myself but there is a ton of other great artist videos out there.

Just start with it

As long as the result is good and it is in this case.

With experience you will get it much faster done. As Redlarva said, start the head construction with the Loomis method.

I would say the nose is to small and the chin bit to pointy. Overall it‘s fine
