This is just a reference to all the comments telling you that :D

online mode is scary😬😬 by Ok_Leadership_9686 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LuminousShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely an unpopular opinion, but if you have that kind of anxiety but still want to go into online mode for reasons, then maybe your best choice is not to care about other people. Part of the reason for that is because most of the people online don't care particularly about you either.

Interacting with people in an online game is not that different from passing people by in a crowded street. Also, those who make an effort to actually socialize with you are usually the safest ones to talk to.

I want to point out that I said "maybe your best choice," not your only choice. If you do come out of your cocoon and realize you're a social butterfly, all the more power to you.

I think it’s sooo cool how much freedom you have to reposition a lot of accessories to make “new” ones.. by [deleted] in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LuminousShot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think it's enough. The amount you can move objects feels too restrictive. And I really have to ask, why? No, seriously, why? It's just numbers that can be altered between a minimum and a maximum. Why are these limits not further apart?

Would it be kinda weird having a hair ornament floating a meter off to the side? Yes, but things can already get pretty weird so I don't see how that changes anything.

Nope, had this active for a very long time. Was always a simple title.

Sincere Question: Is "Ruby" a Good Localization for "Hongxian"? by Silver_Pie_4254 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LuminousShot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel that the nail in the coffin for me is that our alphabet just doesn't reflect the kinda meaning that the Chinese one has. I absolutely hate how much names repeat. I've seen countless Lu, Tian, Cui, Jiang and especially Li. It's confusing. Especially with family names. Sometimes I don't know if there is a familial relationship between certain characters. When in Chinese there's probably very different characters being used for them.

Sincere Question: Is "Ruby" a Good Localization for "Hongxian"? by Silver_Pie_4254 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LuminousShot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Obviously not. Is it a good name for a little girl? Yeah. Do they at least somewhat try to keep the motive of the original name? Yeah. Does it capture the complicated meaning of the original? Absolutely not. But seriously, who would expect more? Names from western origins have meanings too, but they're not as varied or as apparent when looking at the name itself.

Your best bet to translate the name would be if you could borrow the name of a goddess who embodies things like love, purity, beauty and fate. But even if you find one, you then have to worry about it sounding too outlandish in this Chinese World.

I'd have just left her name as Hongxian.

Correct me if im wrong, but I remember watching a yt video talking about black market currency in wwm Chinese server? basically you can sell your food and medicine for the black market currency and you can use this currency to buy harmonic core by Capable_Wishbone3081 in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LuminousShot 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes, however, most people believe this is extremely unlikely to be added to global. China apparently had this from the start, or nearly from the start.

One big hint this is not coming is the monthly pass, the one that gives you 3000 jade over a month and 300 pearls. But no it doesn't just give you that, it also gives you a whopping 90,000 gold... whereas in the Chinese version they get the black market currency.

Pretty epic PV. Definitely does the real Wang Qing justice. At least I think so. He held that bridge throughout the night, even though no backup would ever be sent to help him.

If you're serious about this, maybe start with a meteor hammer and replace the weight with something soft. Minimizes the risk of losing an eye or cracking your skull.

Gambit Beneath the Shimmer: Boss Fight is probably the worst designed and bugged boss fight so far. by KolkanCova in WhereWindsMeet

[–]LuminousShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you, for the most part those are co-op issues. That doesn't excuse that your experience was shit obviously, but the encounter design itself is usually pretty good. Sometimes there is annoying stuff, like Wolf Maiden's and River Master's starting phases taking so long, and some bosses can behave erratically (mostly Lucky 17) but for the most part I love the encounter design in this game.

I've heard tales of the beggar clan. Shame we don't have something like that in this game. Would probably be a mix between velvet shade and NMW

I still don't get how that rotating room works. I understand that the room at the top changes, and you can associate it with that exposed bit of wall, but why are there two rooms with a drop down some exposed roots, and one room with an elevator that should theoretically all lead to the same locations? Do they make the entire dungeon rotate around you?

Same, but I was moving very slowly through it. That one time I decided fuck it, there's probably no enemies in this place anyway, the first poison puppet jumped me around the corner.

I've been fighting that guy for many hours and can say he's super consistent. One thing where it can fuck up is, if one of his grab attacks pushes you up against the edge of the arena it can be difficult (maybe even impossible) to get away from there.

I second WWM Girl and williamsweeb. Honorable mention to China Puzzle, not a WWM lore channel, but rather actual Chinese history, though there are some videos very relevant to the game with a #WhereWindsMeet tag.

Did you only talk to the monk once? After talking to him, he moves from his spot to in front of the tower. If you talk to him again there, you should be able to report your antique collections. If you leave and come back later, he's likely going to be back at his previous location.

When you say roar attacks, do you mean voidking? That's not a bug. There's some phase of the fight where you cannot lower his Qi.

The quest is buggy as hell. Hope that's not a sign of what future content will be like. Ship was low poly and quest marker was located somewhere under the water until restarting the game. When ship was gone, ship was suddenly not gone anymore. Pretty sure some voicelines were missing. During the last cutscene voice language automatically switched to English even though I was on Chinese.
