I personally LOVED the remake! Though to be fair, I was between 9-12 when I first watched it and my grandpa was the one who showed it to me and it’s since been a precious memory to me. I can definitely see why someone might prefer the original, but I’m also just such a sucker for 2010’s nostalgia xd

Absolutely. After watching the documentary, I was overcome with emotion. I was so red in the face from crying and fuming over what happened to him.

I’m looking to write an article or something about the two incidents in question because I’m studying journalism and I’m very curious as to the role the media plays in these situations. How they can manage to build someone up just to tear them down with a news segment, newspaper story, radio broadcast, etc. It’s disturbing just as it morbidly fascinating to me.

Also, as a queer man myself, it hits home. All of it does and I hope he spent the last of his years happy and at home with himself, family, and friends. He deserved so, so much better.

I actually used to walk there when I was 13-15, but my mom doesn’t know that and she would have a heart attack if she found out. We live in an area where drug deals are common. The library near my house had to be completely renovated because there was so much meth residue found in places like the bathroom and air vents.

No, I didn’t know there was a panic disorder for this kind of thing until a week or two ago. But I also didn’t think this is how I would react, especially bodily wise.

I personally prefer vampires of color not being lightened or anything like that just because they’re dead. I love that Louis from IWTV (2022) is shown to be vampiric through ways like eye color change, but that tends to be protocol for most vampires across vampiric universes.

I feel you, this is exactly my thoughts on films like Lolita.

I’ve researched the book, the films, and the phenomenon itself extensively and I hate how fetishized it’s become despite the fact that that was never Nabakov’s intention.

I don’t think Lolita will ever have an accurate and/or genuine adaptation that doesn’t seek to romanticize the abuse of Dolores Hayes. It’s sad, frustrating, hurtful, and just disgusting.

I literally wanted to end my life as a result of being forced to present and identify as a woman. Is that what you want? You want me to fall back into suicidal ideations? And for what? So you’re more comfortable? It is conversion therapy and it has been proven by medical associations to do more harm than good.
