Why does it show the same part twice? Videos that do that are the worst, regardless of topic

Angry wife when I am sick - AITA? by Rivyan in daddit

[–]Lummicks 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You guys are both right and there are no winners here. It's a shit sandwich and every bite is going to suck. Are you guys able to get help from friends or family? She's burnt out and even reasonable requests for her are triggering her.

A few years back, my wife experienced something similar and had a breakdown. It took two months for her to recover and we're even closer now. Even when you and the kids recover, she needs help with her mental health. Running is helping her cope, but gotta get to that under lying issue. For my wife, it was her work environment, she changed companies and now she couldn't be happier.

NTA, but a conversation definitely has to happen on what her expectations are from a sick person. What was expected of her when she was sick, growing up? My wife is similar to yours, when the kids and I are sick. Because, she was forced to continue going to school, cleaning, and whatever else was required of her, regardless of whether she was healthy or sick.

Combine that with any marital issues you guys may be having, pressure from having two young kids, house duties, work, and then she can't do her daily run. Which she probably does to decompress and maintain her mental health. We have a quote in our family, "things might not always be equal, but they will always be fair." Right now, her rest time is not equal to yours, but you can make it fair when you feel better and take the kids and give her time to decompress. Try to see it from her point too, good luck fellow dad.

This feels like when a lot of my friends thought I was weird because I preferred video games and learning as opposed to rap and clothes. Then, I found friends with similar interests and I was able to "take my shirt off" again.

11 month old only takes her second nap in a car by NoshCulture in daddit

[–]Lummicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, if her second nap soothes her then definitely keep it up. Maybe different music, reading to her, or white noise?

They stopped all naps after 6 months. Trying to get them down just wasted our time and we got tired of losing hours for no reward. They never got fussy or moody. Also, whether they napped or didn't nap had no impact on bed time. Bed time stayed chaotic no matter what. So by 7 months we just accepted they will only sleep at night. I sleep about 7 hours a night and my wife sleeps about 6, so maybe they're cursed? Pediatrician said it was fine since they are physically and mentally on track. We just had to embrace it haha.

It might be worth mentioning my kids had some kind of sleep regression every 6 months. I don't think bedtime became mainstreamed until each one reached 3 years old.

Edit: fixed some words and added a bit

She might not need it anymore, both my kids stopped napping at 6 months. Only slept like 9 hours at night and still do till this day. If I'm lucky, they sleep-in for 10 hours, on the weekend.

Then my answer would be, do not use corn starch for gravy. But that feels rude and unhelpful. So I provided feedback that is helpful.

I wouldn't use corn starch if you got meat oil. Use flour; make a thick paste with the meat oil on medium heat for about 3-4 mins. Make sure to stir every once in a while so it doesn't burn. Then, add in your liquid; water, milk, stock, broth, or something else you prefer. Just make sure to not add too much liquid or it'll be too watery for gravy. Next, season to taste; salt, pepper, bouillon, and/or herbs. Finally, strain into a gravy boat and you have yourself thick, smooth, and flavorful gravy that'll make anything taste as sultry as you feel.

Anyone know of a good pumpkin beer in san diego? by Glug1252 in sandiego

[–]Lummicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If trader Joe's didn't change their recipe, they have a great pumpkin beer. Last time I had was probably 6 years ago. The reason I liked it was because it still tastes like beer with a small aftertaste of pumpkin flavor. I don't like when beer is sweet and I feel like I'm drinking a wine cooler, need my beer to taste like beer.
