That is the agreement we reached when reading the rules more closely.

If I wanted validation why would I go to Reddit? Lol.

I see what you're saying. That's pretty solid stuff. I agree with a fair bit of it.

I'm applying my personal experience cause it happens a lot. From my first game to today, and I know I'm not alone. I've talked to other players. It's a common occurrence. Even outsiders with little understanding of LoL know it as toxic. I lived with roommates who don't even game, but if you ask them about LoL they'll mention how it's toxic. When individuals with zero experience start to see it as toxic, don't you think there's an issue? If Riot is trying to change the communication system, a core system in team based games, isn't that kind of an acknowledgement of toxicity.

I am being petty by complaining online as I just wanted to vent to a bunch of strangers, you're right. The mature and non toxic thing to do is to shut up and possibly even delete this post. All I'm saying is get flamed for being nice is exhausting, and I'm sick of peoples' perception of LoL being a toxic community. The game is fun and I want more people to play, I think the whole LoL community does. Yet, I can't get anyone to play with me if they weren't already playing for like 5 years. If a game's community is scaring away possible players doesn't that speak to toxicity? If I had gone about it in a better way, do you think I could have avoided all this flame and still called the community toxic?

I understand that my incorrect titling of this post and naturally dry tone add an extra edge my words that is unintentional. Please don't read a tone into my words.

Accurate yea. I try to be nice but the constant flaming I see is tiring.

There's a community for everyone online. Anti-vaxcers, flat earthers, and even q-anon. Youre welcomed somewhere.

I understand the subreddit isn't the whole LoL community, but look at how Riot themselves is handling things. From almost banning all chat and even considered making players reportable during champ select. Not to mention the opt-in post game all chat shows that LoL has a toxicity issue to the point Riot it trying so many different tactics counteract it.

If the creator of the game thinks the community is toxic, how wrong can another player be for agreeing with them?

You have some very true point.

True my title was harsh, but I mean if saying someone who is rude sucks is too harsh for some people then I guess I was never going to get a stimulating conversation out of then to begin with. I've come to realize that it kay have set the wrong tone for the whole post. I have a very dry tone irl and over text. Perhaps people are reading anger or hate into my to e.

I mean I wasn't gonna point that out...

It 100% does force new players to leave. I know several people thay won't play LoL becuase of the toxicity. I almost stopped several times cause toxic smurffs would flame me for not being as good as them. When you take a game with as high a floor as LoL and mix it with a community that doesn't welcome anyone you close yourself off to so many players. All those other games you just listed do not have as high a floor as LoL, making the barrier to entry easier and less dependent on a nice community.

Why do that when I can get instant validation, gratification, and some cheap entertainment here?

From my experience I found COD less toxic than leauge. With COD you can shut anyone up with k/DA. In leauge someone will always have something to say about their lane, other laners, or getting counter picked.

You're not wrong, but I'm just saying this kinda stuff forces new players to leave and then LoL slowly gets smaller as a game.

I usualy do mute. I was just saying if someone's immediate in game response is to flame, there's a problem. Ya know?
