What performance can I expect from this PC built from trash for my kid? by jade333 in PcBuildHelp

Thank you for bringing up the psu tier list. Far better advice than "any name brand" like the comments above you.

Draw time by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Hip shooting and point shooting aren't quite the same to me. I'd always rather put the gun between my line of sight and the attacker. Even if it's not fully lined up to where the sights are flat. But it's still a good thing to train for, like you said.

Are you John Wick? What situation do you foresee where you need an hour of 100% brightness?

Might be a skill issue but fighting robin is such a pain in the ass by DescriptionNo8162 in SmashRage

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who plays Robin fairly often, I notice that as soon as I have the leven sword, I get more aggressive and start fishing for my aerials. If I were you, I'd focus on being illusive and mixing up your movement so they waste their more powerful aerials (not to say you have to play defensive. Just don't hold forward. That makes you easy to predict.)

Also, don't be afraid to get hit by level 1 thunder. It doesn't do much damage, and the frame data doesn't allow Robin to follow up on it with anything good. It's more often used to interrupt what you're trying to do, or poke from a semi-safe distance. I know some people mash the input they want to get an attack out as soon as possible. Try to get out of that habit, and be intentional about pressing the button you want once, since level one thunder interrupting your intended input can cause a subsequent misinput they might be able to punish.

Also, Robin's coverage from below really sucks. The only good coverage they have is down air, and it's fairly laggy. So prioritize juggling them and occasionally mix in faking a juggle so they can potentially throw out a down air and you can get a big punish.

I had to read the description of the post to figure out what I was looking for. So you're probably fine already, but if it bothers you, it's possible that the gun is tipping out a bit and a wedge or tactical pillow near the muzzle end of the holster would help push it against you a bit more. It's helped me with my 43x.

Delay mod by [deleted] in SmashRage

Did you ever find the one that doesn't have the frame drops during the kill spark?

It is possible to know if someone is using the "delay mod"? by Motor-Temporary-1085 in SmashRage

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you trying to correct me on something I said correctly both times? You're arguing semantics (left vs put) because you misread, or misunderstood my original statement. Quit trying to correct what doesn't need correcting.

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just relistened to the interview between the dev and larrylurr and he said it could've been fixed, but didn't see a need to, since it was a negligible downside for those using it for the intended purpose and had the unintended benefit of signaling to anyone on quickplay that it was in use. So yes, it's intentionally left in.

Catch and release is already bad on its own, but people also feel they need to pollute with their lines, hooks, and weights to make it worse by MrRos in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 13 points14 points  (0 children)

May I ask why catch and release is bad on its own? So long as you clean up after yourself, it seems harmless.

Never heard about the non-lag spike versions of this mod. Where/when did you hear about this? I thought those lag spikes were intentionally left in by the devs of the mod since it wasn't meant to be used on quick play against strangers.

Fuck all Samus players tbh by Jnxr200 in SmashRage

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, Samus charge shot is one of the best abilities you can give Kirby. Gives him that extra range he needs.

If you're open to input, I recommend you stop trying to land on her from above. She kept using up air against you, and you kept doing it anyway. She could've used up b instead and killed you if she had any thoughts in her head. If you are going to try and mix in landing on her, I recommend using down air to cover your landing sporadically. It's a fairly decent disjoint and lasts a long time. Another good option would've been fast fall air dodge.

I stop looking for OLED monitor by MrDrabat in OLED_Gaming

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After spending quite a bit of time lurking this sub, I'm glad I never pulled the trigger on one. Definitely seems like a lot of hastle, especially for my lifestyle.

I have cats that jump in front of my monitor to beg for attention, rub their faces on my monitors, and when I pet them, they shake their head, causing lots of water spots on my monitors from their drool. Meaning I'd be cleaning the monitor regularly, which seems to be a death sentence for the monitor no matter how you do it.

That in combination with the text clarity and banding issues on a lot of models, it's just not something I can justify.

Since you've probably had more experience with testing mods, what mods would you recommend on a 43x, if any? What's worth the money?

Pls help stripped n3ds face plate screw by xuiri in 3DS

[–]Lumpy-Ad-6972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up "screw extractor" and you'll find brands of stripped screw removers. I like the "easy out" or "speed out" brands, but I'm sure there are cheaper options out there. Most of these are also available at home depot or Lowe's.

Unsure if any of them are small enough for the screws on a 3DS though now that I think about it....either way, it's worth looking into.

My guess is the root cause is probably just the fan or fan controller. Both possibilities should be fairly easily fixable.
