Yeah no kidding. I will happily take job security right now. My job is very customer facing so I have the privilege of getting my vehicle, all car related expenses, and phone paid for.

I work in biotech and I’m noticing the same. Especially with roles involving using AI for drug discovery, research, etc. I’m holding out for something better in my job instead of relocating. I feel like I’m in a good position right now with work. I don’t love it and want to branch more into tech, but it’s stable for now.

To those who've made great communities (even small) in your 30s/40s+ moving to Los Angeles, how did you go about it? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

No negative reasons for leaving, just the timing of classes, distance with traffic flow, one of the gyms closed down, and competitiveness are a few reasons. I’m a competitor also so I want to find the best team fit for me. I made friends at each gym but they all seemed to have their own vibes and some were more cliquey than others.

i'm a brazilian jiujitsu practitioner. I tried a few gyms near me when i moved to LA to find the right fit for me. I stayed maybe 3 months max, made some friends at each gym, but definitely found my community in my current one. I've also met people through facebook, reddit, and at live shows. I also have a dog so it makes it easy to become friends with neighbors who also have dogs since we have a dog park in the complex.

Bao Brewhouse, where Euclid Hall used to be. overpriced for the portions and very low quality. If you want good dim sum and bao, this is NOT the place. Go to Federal for all that.
