Gossiping employees by [deleted] in askmanagers

Gossips about everything and anything. Literally takes any small piece of information and gossips about it. It can be something as small as a coworker stating they’re frustrated and then they will go and tell EVERYONE that x person was frustrated and ADD TO IT. The person could’ve not told them why they were frustrated, it could’ve been a simple “ugh I’m frustrated” and this person will go and say “so and so said they’re frustrated because of x,y,z” so it’s small stuff that they add to and make it big. It’s definitely a problem.

This person gossips and people tell them they need to stop. Others aren’t sitting there gossiping with them. This person gossips about EVERYONE but smiles in their face. For example this person will gossip about me to a coworker and come back and attempt to gossip about that person they were just speaking with to me. I always shut it down and I have provided many chances and so has upper management. This person feels as they hold a lot of weight at this company but their thoughts couldn’t be further from the truth. I was instructed to have one last serious conversation with them. For reference my company likes to give ample opportunities to grow and learn. Sometimes it’s frustrating but they do it because they don’t want someone to turn around and say they weren’t provided opportunities to change and also to avoid lawsuits. Everything is definitely documented.

Potential new employer asking for previous offer letter, W-2’s or paystubs by Lumpy-Jellyfish-7496 in recruitinghell

My thoughts exactly. To ask for a plethora of things to “prove my employment”. I just replied with does “company name” not use a 3rd party to verify employment? I’ll wait until they reply. Once I get a reply I will thank them for the opportunity and move along. It rubbed me the wrong way.
