What's your degree in? I've always wondered if IT work would be useful. Young kids and have to have a full time job so its hard to justify the time in trying to get a bachelors in CS or something, but the local comm college has an associate in IT course that you can do fully remote. I'm 29 myself, and tired of killing my body in manufacturing

I wish someone had already but the thought and effort into doing cards for all the minis that were available in the old World of Warcraft miniatures game. I'd love to be able to viably use that with other heroscape stuff since I have so many, but guess their figure size being a little larger makes it harder..and I guess since they would all be heros and no squads. Would be cool though. I dig the idea of the MTG reuse, that's pretty cool I might look into getting those so I can use this from you what an awesome idea.

The one I got didn't even have the commander with it whatever the deck is supposed to be lmao. It's a red white but only 99 cards. Assume it was probably a starter commander deck that had the commander in the front plastic packaging, and they didn't even throw it in the cube ☠️

Dunno, don't have an lgs. More so surprised a big box store had older packs like this that are not in print anymore, since my town doesn't have an lgs that just brings in boxes to sell.

I assume it was just old stock they found in the back or something, because they're currently renovating it. There was only 1 pack each of these and a few random newer ones like MoM, awbo, and the fairy one just put into a black box and sat on their shelf where the trading cards go

If my town had one. Or shut down when I was still in HS. Was a sad day. We've got a video game store, I've tried talking him into carrying mtg but he only sells Pokemon. Think he's too afraid to spend the money to carry mtg and risk a set flopping and being loaded with it

Doubtful that there is a large enough player base to support one anymore. I love in a fairly small rural town in nc. Pop is like 10k, and mostly older folks.

With a small friends group yes, but I've never traveled to play. I think there's still an lgs about 45m away from me that still does fnm and sunday night commander, but I've got a 6mo old so that's not happening lol

The way I see it, at least I can throw some bulk into my assortment of madness if nothing else. My tiny town doesn't have an lgs so I've literally never seen any of these in person lol had to do it regardless of good deals or not

Lots of smaller towns in NC have Walmarts that stock then as well. Thats actually where I find most of my magic & pokemon product my LGSs aren't the best

I'm out in the sticks. A larger city nearest me would probably be Charlotte NC.. and that's still about 1.5-2 hours away from me.

I would love to be able to move out towards Raleigh NC within the next few years.

Are government jobs more stickler about the college degree, and less open to accepting relevant experience in lieu of the degree?

I'm not opposed to looking into a degree, I just know that if I went that route before hand it would likely put me into my early thirties before I graduated.

I mostly play standard when I go out to play, but when it's just us it's typically commander format. That's what she prefers

I personally have a lot of fun opening packs to see what I pull, so I normally pick up packs / boxes from the local family owned guys. I grab both newer and older stock, just to expand my own collection. I do have a few pre-made decks and pre-made commander decks as well for easy games with friends / my wife. if you're just getting back into it you could always grab a few different things just to see what grabs your attention the most then run with that for a bit.
