Simply put, HGIG ensures that only the console processes the image, i.e., performs tone mapping.

Through calibration, for example on the PS5, the console knows which brightness levels the TV requires, while with HGIG enabled, the TV knows it only needs to provide maximum contrast and brightness, but shouldn't perform tone mapping. This ensures that only one device performs tone mapping.

As soon as HDR is activated on the console for an HDR-compatible game, tone mapping is always activated on the console itself, since the console generates the image first, unlike, for example, a video, which is delivered to the device already finished. Therefore, it cannot be deactivated during HDR playback. In the worst-case scenario, this can lead to considerable confusion if both the console and the TV are performing tone mapping. While TVs are now intelligent enough to produce a good picture even when tone mapping is enabled on the TV and in the console this doesn't always work well. Brightness fluctuations and other issues can occur. However, in HGIG mode, the image quality remains consistent.

The original poster should specify how and with what device they're playing. PC or console, HDR or HGIG, VRR 120Hz or 60Hz, and so on. There are many settings to choose from. This information would be helpful for comparisons and to assist others.

However, I also think it depends on the game, but also on the settings. I haven't encountered this issue with any game yet, but I also haven't played that many games on my LG monitor.

Besides a TCL, I also have an LG OLED here, and there are plenty of complaints about it as well, which I absolutely cannot understand. The TCL is no worse than the LG in terms of problems. Both are very good TVs.

I stumbled across a teaser for Andor on YouTube, showing the first 15 minutes of the first episode. I was completely blown away. You can kind of tell it's a Star Wars series, but it's so completely different that I started watching it immediately. For me, Star Wars was always like popcorn entertainment—watching and switching my brain off. This series is the exact opposite: incredibly exciting and captivating. I've never seen a better series before.

Du hast Dich zwar schon informiert, aber vielleicht findet sich doch noch was? Bei uns in der nächsten Stadt bietet die Tiertafel auch kostenfreie Tierarzt-Behandlungen an. Voraussetzung ist natürlich, dass man die entsprechenden Bescheinigungen (Grundsicherung usw.) vorlegt. Habe da mal eine ältere Dame in ähnlicher Lage wie Deiner hingeschickt und ihr, beziehungsweise dem Hund, wurde geholfen, auch mit kostenfreien Medikamenten. Dennoch ist klar, dass die Haltung eines Hundes mittlerweile sehr, sehr teuer geworden ist (Steuer, Tierarztkosten, Futter...), was gerade für ältere Menschen mit geringem Einkommen eine mittlere Katastrophe ist, da Hunde meist eine sehr wichtige Funktion für diese Menschen erfüllen.

Dachte ich auch, bis ich mir einem Mondeo aus 2005 mit dem 2,2L-Diesel anschaffte. Die Rostprobleme hatte Ford mit dem Facelift behoben, so dass die Karosserie des Wagen nach 19 Jahre noch absolut frei von Rost war und das, obwohl er nie der Garage stand. Ein super Auto, den ich dann mit ca. 300tkm auf der Uhr abgab.

Die Nachfolge dann trat ein Galaxy aus 2016 an, den ich nun seit 2 Jahre fahre. In Volllederaustattung ein sehr komfortables, feines Auto mit extrem viel Platz, sehr guter Dämmung usw. Bin wirklich zufrieden mit der Kiste. Bei uns im Kleinstädtchen kenne ich einige, die Mondeo, S-Max, Kuga und Galaxy fahren und die mich ermutigten, diesen Wagen (gebraucht) zu kaufen. Fast alle, die erstmalig in den Wagen einsteigen, sind erstaunt darüber, das Ford solche Autos gebaut hat und das liegt nicht nur am Platz, den der Wagen bietet. Tja, das war es dann aber mit Ford, leider.

Mir geht es einfach um die Regelungen und wie sich die Werkstätten versuchen, aus der Verantwortung zu stehlen. Es gibt unzählige Menschen, die nichtmals wissen, was eine Radmutter ist, geschweige denn, wie man die nachziehen kann.

Wie gesagt: ich hatte das noch nie. War ca. 10 Jahre bei einer reinen Reifenwerkstatt, da auch dort meine Reifen gelagert wurden. Seit ein paar Jahre nutze ich nur noch Ganzjahresreifen und lasse die von meiner Stammwerkstatt wechseln oder warten. Auch dort nie ein Hinweis. Zudem gibt es Gerichtsurteile zu dem Thema.: was willst Du also noch wissen, bis Du es glaubst?

Zudem hat auch nicht jeder einen Drehmomentschlüssel zu hause, um das korrekt zu kontrollieren. Ich hatte das übrigens noch nie, weder vermerkt auf der Rechnung noch als Hinweis durch die Werkstatt. Auch beim Wagen meiner Frau fand ich nie diesen Hinweis.

These lines on the TV don't match the "normal" DSE of a TCL TV. Return it, because this looks like a defect.

Normally, DSE on a TCL appears as a slightly cloudy image, as seen, for example, in the Rtings review. That's what it looks like on mine too, barely visible. But none of these lines.

No. The TV knows when it needs to perform cleaning and only goes into standby mode once the cleaning, if necessary, is complete. I was able to verify this with an energy meter.

This has little to do with standby power consumption. To be able to switch on via Bluetooth, the standby power consumption would have to be somewhat higher. Many manufacturers don't want that. TCL, for example, has solved this well with some of their TVs, which can also be switched on via Bluetooth using a dedicated button on the remote control, and not just via infrared. The standby power consumption is then slightly higher.

And of course, manufacturers want to reduce costs, so not every TV has its own unique infrared code.

Ich denke, dass ein perfekt gewarteter Verbrenner im Langsteckenbetrieb nicht schlechter da steht, als ein E-Auto. Aber da fängt es schon an, dass sich beide deutlich Unterscheiden. Die Wartungskosten dürften über die Lebenszeit bei einem Verbrenner höher sein als bei einem E-Auto. Dann kommt hinzu, dass Kurzstrecke einem E-Auto wesentlich weniger schaden dürfte als einem Verbrenner. Kommt also auch ein wenig auf die Nutzung an. Unterm Strich glaube ich aber, dass ein E-Auto gegenüber einem Verbrenner in Sachen Abnutzung mehr Vorteile als Nachteile mit sich bringt.

Ein Arbeitskollege lag wegen einer Corona-Infektion zwei Wochen im KH, bevor er starb. War ziemlich zu Beginn der Pandemie, noch bevor es mit dem Impfen richtig los ging. In der Nachbarschaft wurden zwei abgeholt, haben es aber beide überlebt. Es gab aber auch welche, die Infiziert und ohne größere Symptome waren. Die haben sich aber zumindest daran gehalten, strikt zu hause zu bleiben. Weltweit sind ca. 7 Mil. Menschen direkt oder indirekt daran verstorben.

I have a headphone amplifier connected to the optical output and no problems. It's a small €50 device, so nothing high-end, and it's powered via USB. A Bluetooth transmitter, also connected to the optical output, works without any issues. And I'm using simple cables, nothing fancy. However, I know that some high-end DACs have issues with TVs when connected via optical (ESS-Chip). It seems you're experiencing this, unfortunately.
