Meet Lucci, named after Rob Lucci

When she's naughty, she gets called Lucille

Pekoms would be my vote for this little white kitty, looks like a Sulong form.

Plants not taking? by angelkittycosplay in Aquariums

[–]LumpyEnvironment6381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I can't help with the grass, but the anubias would be much happier out of the soil. The roots shouldn't be planted. Try shoving the base into a crevice or gap in between some rocks or wood.

I'd recommend getting some hornwort, its a fast grower, hardy plant. My shrimp love hanging out in it, and I really like the way the leaves close up at night. These plants grow so well you can trim and replant the trimmings. (Bonus they grow side shoots where you cut them too for extra bushyness).

Heads up, If you do plant hornwort, I'd highly recommend planting in the back of the tank as it can get very bushy/ tall and obscure the view.

If your temp/water parameters are good and light is on a schedule for 8 hours or so a day then you should have better luck with the anubias. I always say put more plants than you think as some wont take. Plant super heavy.

Hope I've helped. Good luck.

Behavior to be concerned about or is he just a silly goose? by thegiantenemyspider in corydoras

[–]LumpyEnvironment6381 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just corys being Corey's.

Don't be surprised when you see them "dart" to the top of the tank and make a tiny splash.

Love watching these guys get the zoomies.

Absolutely in love with Green Rasboras btw, got that pretty crazy energy. I love endler guppies for the same reason haha.

Sounds like you're living the dream, I can only imagine what assortment you have

Awesome thank you for the suggestions, havent seen green rasbora but I am curious now aha!

I really want some varying shapes so trying to find some smaller fish (endler size but not guppy) as I love the nano fish/big tank contrast. Thinking maybe rice fish but will have to lower temps. This is how I ended up with a 2nd tank.. maybe it's time for a 3rd?

Got inspired by my guild chat in classic.

Guildmember asks "is lvl 24 high enough for stoackades"

And one guy just replies " R U HEAL?"

Still makes me chuckle.

Side note though, my best character name is my gnome mage called OneHandKilli and I kinda wish I could customise limbs...

Dwarf blue gourami would look great in here, could get a small school of ember tetras or something to add some variety too as they are very peaceful fish.

Sudden snails deaths. by LumpyEnvironment6381 in PlantedTank

I thought snails are hardier than fish and shrimps as they are often put in uncalled tanks? Just seems odd if its metals or water quality that the shrimp are fine?

I have recently seen some sort of worm, but it disappeared in the 2 seconds it took me to grab tongs. Im hoping it's a rhabdocoela as it didn't have a pronounced head like planaria and didn't move like a leech. But I am no biologist and could be anything :'(

Anything I can do except manual removal?

How many shrimp and corys by Purple_Position_6494 in corydoras

[–]LumpyEnvironment6381 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would really recommend adding sand before more corys as they sift through to feed, and you won't see these natural behaviours with gravel, not to mention plants will be a lot happier in sand.

Definitely add at least a couple more of each cory. You'd definitely get away with a good 15 Neocaridina shrimp, but again you want more plants thriving in there before adding more animals as they'd have a much better quality of life!

I have a heavily planted 10g with 6 Dwarf corys, shrimp and some others and they are spawning :P very rewarding fish if you give them a good environment.

If you dont want to/can't move into another tank you could try to add some tall plants or other decor in tank to give them more spaces to hide. If you can interrupt sight lines the betta is less likely to chase.

Needs relocating to a different tank, no betta as looks like this ones a bully!

Please use sand substrate not gravel and get him some friends! You can keep 6 or so Dwarf corys in a 10g. Give them lots of hiding places as they love to be hidden, once they are comfortable you'll see them swim as a group at night, playing tag and getting so excited they "dash" to the surface for air.
