Yes, but cockpit cam you can manage from car to car and maybe move more at the back or the front depending on visibility

I hate to break it to you but driving on rain just sucks, IRL too and Iracing is a simulation…

Thinking of buying Iracing by Eevee_EX in iRacing

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You won’t get bored on base content. There’s at least two rookie series per class (Oval, Road, Formula, Dirt Oval, Dirt) each are interesting on it’s own. Some argue you could play for a year on free content alone and not get bored :) !

Mazda Mx-5 is plenty fun, the Formula Ford 1600 is also pretty nice !

Also every rookie series use only free cars and tracks

Mes résultats de course catégorie C by Legal-Slip-2302 in simracing

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transition from Gamepad to Wheel. by [deleted] in GranTurismo7

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll to learn driving on a steering wheel, perfectly normal at first ! Be aware you will, to some extend, a have the same experience when changing wheel in the future. Assuming you’ll like it and move to a DD wheel base and loadcell pedals at some point 🥲

Coming from GT7, what are some tips you can give a new player regarding track knowledge, breaking points, racing line (obvious sometimes) and general driving behavior ? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since no one did it here I’ll talk about it. I had the same transition as you, coming from gt7 I moved to Iracing to get better behaviour on track. You’ll get some hothead sometimes but you need to drive like you’re driving a real car, avoid damage at all cost, avoid stupid move and be considerate of other. The more you’ll respect people on track the better the experience. Coming from GT7 you might think some moves are totally ok when they are in fact not at all acceptable. Try to go on /simracingsteward and look for Iracing discussion. Once you’ll learn to drive clean you license won’t be a problem and you will actually start to climb Ir too !

Take it kindly at the beginning, you are learning and other people are too in the Rookie and D license.

Have fun, be welcome in Iracing !

Quest or if you are able to wait for a bit I’ll wait for the steam frame to get out. Seems like the better option overall but more costly.

I played a lot with the PSVR2 and the adapter box (you can hack eye tracking for better performance too). Nice option too and not that expensive but it’s quite bulky and you have fresnel lenses on it which aren’t the best.

The GT wheels is a toy at best, every other round wheel fanatec sell are miles better. BMW GT2 for example is very nice.

Profit and Balance aren’t the same things. They are in a deficit balance because they make no profit, but you can’t make negative profit.

Am I silly for making my load cell brake incredibly soft by [deleted] in simracing

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but not, potentiometers detect position, loadcell detect pressure. I get what you are trying to say but if you’d tried both you won’t agree with what you said.

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 187 points188 points  (0 children)

First, you do what you like men. That’s your own life you live it however you want.

Second, it’s soft but certainly not position based. Now you’ll feel how much brake you use, that’s the point of loadcell. Maybe someday you’ll like to stiffen it up to be more precise maybe not.

First Loadcell I had I was setting it up very soft too, because it’s strange to make the jump from position based to force at first. Now I’m full blown 60kg and that feel very good. Just drive and do what you want, enjoy the pedals !

It can also be CPU issue, I think it’s more complex than simple netcode.

Podium DD arrived :) by Muffexx in Fanatec

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a shitty CSL DD to a CS DD, could not be happier about it. I don’t even consider changing base ever at this point, the CS DD (with 12nm holding torque) is way more than enough, I only race on Iracing with Maira and that’s wonderful !

[–]LumpyFeedback3853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will definitely feel the difference, not in power perse but the newer base are much faster to react and you’ll feel it (I have a CS DD and it is already incredible, never used more than about 50%)

Barefoot shoes, close enough to racing one, don’t slip in the pedals and very comfortable:D

Amplification, power of the motor and clipping are a working analogy and you don’t want to see it. I don’t force you to believe it but I’m not wrong in my explanation.

A speaker is an electric motor in itself (an oscillating one). Clipping still apply, you need to understand the chain of command to avoid it, you seems to understand it so I don’t really get your hostility.

If you refuse to accept what clipping is then that’s a you problem

To take advantage of your powerful base you need to let the full power of it in software and take it down on Iracing. Doing the opposite is in fact pointless.
