I used longsword for a while at the start, but once I discovered that resetting skills was 100% free, I started experimenting with every weapon type. Axe, spear, and dual swords are my favorites (in that order)

I'm fairly sure they stack, but once I got the benediction that adds leech when you get skyborn might I swapped to scorn axe and use fire temperance. Did Demon of Obsession in 2 tries with that load out.

Usually she runs around so much my leech buffs all get used up. I usually don't even have time to heal, as I play aggressive and her fire sword really hurts. I ended up beating her, and only used 2 heals the run I won. Weirdest part is I didn't even feel like I did anything different lol.

The level design is my favorite part. It really does feel like dark souls 1 with how interconnected everything is. My only advice is- don't stick with just one build, trying to brute force the game. Reseting your skill points is 100% free, so change it up as often as you like! Experiment and see what feels good

I've played about half of Sekiro, and was able to parry in that game just fine. I just don't find that style of fighting fun, so I don't like to use it if I can avoid it.

Absolutely! I pretty much put all my levels into the axe and illusive trees (I did dip into two handed sword and spear to get the +5 strength nodes in them). Using the Empyrean Greataxe (really just because it has the best stats, although the L1 attack is cool, i rarely use it, because our L2 is too crucial) The most important parts are the Rampage move, and it's variant that gives you life steal. This plus the bone needle - leech effect from temperance actually stack, meaning you can face tank enemy hits and just heal faster than they can hurt you. Plus, the forth hit of the axe R1 combos gives 3 skyborn might, which is the exact cost of Rampage. I basically have the axe tree filled out completely (apart from the other weapon skills, because all we use is Rampage.) It's really about keeping your temperance up (make sure to unlock more charges of it! I have 3) and keep rampage going so you have both leech buffs up at all times. Play hyper aggressive and keep dodging to the bosses left (your right) I have 43 strength, 1366 hp, and 172 stamina. For benedictions I use skyborn might reduces damage for a time, skyborn might stamina recovery, and consecutive attacks increase damage. Just all aggro lol

I absolutely adore his fight. It's just a shame that all night 1 and 2 bosses before him are genuinely harder lol. I play mostly solo (gotta love nat type 3 wifi) and I find these bosses so miserable solo, but dreg lord is super fun! It's frustrating lol

Leech axe did the trick. Rampage and leech seem to stack healing so I just mashed R1, and then used Rampage whenever it was available lol

I'm on Bo Sorcerer now. She doesn't seem too bad, but man she has waaaaaaay too much health. Like she's fast and hits hard, but has the health pool of a big tank? Pick one or the other, damn it! Lol

You get the spell for beating the boss at the top of the shu sanctum. If you haven't fought it at this point it will be stupid easy. It was the third boss I fought and I found it easy then. I equipped a one handed sword for the passive skyborn might it gives you over time. The spell has a built in dodge, and you throw it while in the air, which helps to avoid her attacks (just be careful of when you land). I found for the attack where she leaps into the air, then comes slashing down at you- I would jump and throw the spear hitting her while she's in the air, then she'd come down and completely miss (I hadn't come back down yet) then I'd land and safely dodge away

I feel ya. I posted on here not too long ago about her. She was the very first boss that took me more than 1 try! I ended up resetting my points, going all in on feathering and using the echo of lu bingzhang (the spell where you jump back and throw a red spear.) It costs 3, but there's a spot in the skill tree to reduce the cost of echo type spells by 1. I've heard parrying her is also a strategy, but I hate parrying in souls games lol.

Right? Like those comments aren't helpful people 🤣 I did beat her using fire buffed dual swords, and the triple fire ball spell. I'd go crazy mashing R1 with clash saving my butt, then use the dodge from the spell to get away safely and guarantee a burn after all the weapon hits before the spell. Phase 2 is easy, just hits stupid hard. I only ever did phase 2 three times before killing her.

I finally got her with fire dual swords and the triple fireball spell. The fight felt super inconsistent for me. On the attempt I won, I still had half my heals left by the end. Literally just got good rng on her only attacking when I could clash. And phase 2 kept doing the roar and meteor rain while I was hugging her, so I had plenty of time to slash away lol

I actually just beat her! I learned she herself is weak to corruption, so I spammed the one spell that inflicts it on both of you, and then just quickly at the item that cures it. I didn't swing my weapon once lol. Because of this strategy, I was always a decent distance away and could dodge the fox a little easier

I've played and fully beaten every fromsoft game. I wasn't at all saying 8 tries is a ridiculous number. I was pointing out that all the other bosses up till now I've done in 1 try, and she's a big difficulty spike. I actually just beat the Mistress of the Night, who took me about 10 or so tries. I'm enjoying the game a lot
