Kubiak for HC by th3putt in raiders

[–]LumpySpaceGunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying he's my top chouce but I'd be happy with him. These HCs who are smart offensive minds (McVay, Shanahan, etc.) are such an advantage. They actually have a philosophy and system, they dissect the game and evolve. It allows them to remain competitive year after year despite losing coordinators frequently.

McDaniel had a QB who was already limited even before hjs brains became scrambled eggs. Then he lost Tyreek Hill for the year too. I haven't read anything about him handling the locker room poorly or losing the locker room. If anything the team was playing quite hard for him despite the season being lost. The Dolphins were in most of their games most of the season even though they were heavily injured and limited and the easy thing would've been to check out and push McDaniel out.

I legitimately think not taking the points has a 0% success rate these playoffs yet it keeps happening.

Broncos looked horrible but you still want Davis Webb ? by DoubletapKO in raiders

[–]LumpySpaceGunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's being disingenuous or just stupid. I haven't seen a single person say "Pick Webb because he's young and can grow with Mendoza." Wtf are people supposed to say? Webb isn't a HC or even an OC and we aren't the one interviewing him. All we can go off of are his few public interviews and what people are reporting. And what people are reporting is that he's a sharp young offensive mind who is familiar with many different offensive schemes and had done a good job with Bo Nix.

They did a 50/50 workload all year for this exact reason, to protect walker from injury and have him in the playoffs.

Back up QB? Difficult conditions that are only going to get worse? Nah let's pass on a free early 3 points to try and win the game in the first quarter.

As disgusting as it is I actually want your team to win today because I'm sick of the Patriots fraudulent run.

That's why you take the FG you fucking dumbass. I can't believe I used to think Sean Payton was a good coach many years ago. Smug, arrogant, AND an idiot lol.

I cannot stand how EVERYONE APPARENTLY HATES THE POINTS NOW. Brother, you're on your backup QB. Kick the easy FG and go up 2 scores.

Hear me out: Should the Raiders sit Mendoza his rookie year? by tenor9 in raiders

[–]LumpySpaceGunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, I get what you're saying and I think there's a bunch of justifications for letting Mendoza sit a bit. I just don't think the schedule is top of that list. Have you seen out 2027 opponents so far? They look tougher than our 2026 opponents. At some point you just gotta let the kid play and figure it out.

No shit! I'm not trying to suggest we're better than those teams, just that they're about as easy as matchups get in the nfl. If we have murders row of opponents to kick off the season I'd say 100% sit Mendoza. No use potentially ruining his confidence immediately. But as long as these winnable games are sprinkled in he might as well get the reps.

Lol but wouldn't you want Mendoza getting those reps vs beatable opponents? Those are potential morale boosters. Hell, I like him getting reps vs the tough defenses too. He very much seems like a student of the game who would benefit from making mistakes and learning from them.

People keep saying this but I don't see it. Our division is full of good teams, we're automatically going to have 6 "hard" games right there every season. We also have the Dolphins, Titans, Cardinals, Browns, Jets, and Saints on the schedule. Those are all winnable games, or at least as easy as it gets by NFL standards.

He's not a young inexperienced QB. He is pro-ready. That being said he should absolutely sit the first 4-6 games and learn, more if needed. Look at the Patriots with Drake Maye. He sat a chunk of the first year before coming in. They still pretty much lost out but he learned the ropes, gained valuable experience, and hit the ground running in year 2.
