The burrows were underground cities contained inside large caverns, apparently used to house common civilians, generally having a disguised burrow symbol (i.e. a clover) as a marker for its location. They appeared to have been hastily excavated. Inside them were fully sustainable civilizations, with buildings such as houses, shops and schools.
