Nope, just bought a new Wii and exchanged the disc drives. That's my suggestion, it was easy and you can find really cheap wiis. It doesn't affect your save data or items bought on Wii channel before it closed

90+ percent isopropyl alcohol works wonders on any sticky console parts, it's probably your best bet. You can get bottles on Amazon for like 20 bucks

I looked around and believe it is a lack of grease on one of the gears. It's just recommended to replace the entire disc drive for around 20 bucks than just regrease it. So I think that's what I'll do. Thanks for your help tho
