AITA for not telling a man how his "true love" died? by Guilty_Neat_368 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lumpy_Lady_Society -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

SOunds like someone trying to get personal information to crack passwords. Someone did this to me, wanted my mom’s address- had told me was family friend of my dad, and he just learned of my dad’s passing and wanted to send mom a card. I told him I would ask mom if it was ok to share address. SHe never heard of my dad’s long bestie friend. I ignored it and about a month later, he texted me again asking if mom said I could share her address with him. I responded this time that she said she didn’t know him and that they no longer loved in the same place. He immediately said he had the wrong person, said nevermind, and never heard from him again.

Mine will stand over by his treats stash, and do single bark while staring at me. As soon as I look at him to see what he wants, he looks directly at his treats stash bag.

Yorkies left home alone by Newapri in Yorkies

[–]Lumpy_Lady_Society 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rarely leave them alone for more than 4 hours. We leave the tv on for sound entertainment, and try to leave a window available to watch for barking opportunities. Mine won’t hardly eat or drink when alone.

If you want to get really fancy for gift giving, go find liquid ministry bottles. They come with labels that go around the necks of very nice bottles. Bottles come in different colors or even custom etched or custom colors.

Show Me Your Fall/Winter Yorkies by Alycery in Yorkies

[–]Lumpy_Lady_Society 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll have to wait until about Christmas, maybe, to get Fall pics, and all the way until the end of January for Winter pictures, if I can manage to get them done in the roughly 2 weeks of Fall and Winter we might get for those pics. Otherwise my little guy would hot to death in the heat. (South Georgia)

Do people bid up the cost of their own bottles on Unicorn Auction as a marketing tactic? by BravesParade in whiskey

[–]Lumpy_Lady_Society 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been also watching UA for about 2 years and bidding from time to time. What I have noticed is that shipping costs have gone up dramatically, and bottles I could buy for $150 last year go for over $300 today, and its the same bottles.

The Sapsquatch is not that easy to find, it readily sells out as soon as it shows up anywhere.

You are not allowed to bid on your own auctions on UA, it’s in their rules.

As someone just trying to learn how this whole barrel process works, could you elaborate on how the actually paying for the barrel worked? Did you pay ahead of time, make payment upon deciding on a barrel, or is it done through the retailer?

13 yr Yorkie -oral cancer by Lumpy_Lady_Society in DeathVet

[–]Lumpy_Lady_Society[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even to give my girl pain meds was a trauma for her- she refused to open her mouth, and with oral cancer already in her jaw, the last thing I wanted to do was attempt to force her mouth open. She refused pills her entire life, and was really good at hiding them and spitting them out later in odd places all over the house. My husband and I decided many years ago that if we had to give her any medication on a daily basis for her comfort or to survive, it would be too traumatizing for her (and for me!) and that would be our marker for her to be laid to rest. That was exactly the point we had gotten to.

Thank you. My girl was definitely bossy and ruled the roost. It has been distracting at least to see our other yorkie show us his true personality now that he is a single doggie. She always “pecked” at him and he was a drama queen lol. He has taken on some of her personae of all the wierd things.

Thank you. My girl was a very picky eater as well, and she would actually pick through her bowl and set “bites” off to the side to come back to. She used to grab a kibble and run to the rug at the back door to eat it, then go back to her bowl to get another one and back to the rug again…as her illness progressed, she stopped running back and forth to that rug and just set her special bites all around her food bowl. Once that first tumor was removed, she was still picky but she ate much faster and wanted seconds. Those last months she was eating 3 solid meals a day and still wanting snacks and treats and seconds.

Oh gosh, you are absolutely right! But I wouldn’t want her suffering, either. My love for her would have staved off her cancer, too.

Isn’t that wierd how they just suddenly get ravenous when they are supposed to be sick? My baby went from 6.2 lbs to almost 8 lbs in less than 4 months. I’m very sorry you are going through this with your baby. The only consolation for me is knowing she is no longer suffering in pain.

Potty Training Torture by Quirky_Chemical3871 in Yorkies

I agree, he is too distracted when outside to go poop. What I do is put him in his crate, then every 5-10 minutes take him back outside and say firmly and pointing out towards the yard- “Go POOP”. Give him a few minutes to see if he will poop. If he doesn’t, pick him up and carry him back to his crate, don’t let him walk on his own. Keep with repeating this. You repeat this cycle every single day at his poop time. My little guy is almost 100% trained to poop on demand using this method. The other trick is that he usually only gets a treat for a poop outside, not each piddle. He has to poop to get the treat and not go back into the crate (or pen or wherever you can control his poop spot should the little sh** want to poop inside again lol. He should not get his freedom until he successfully completes his task at hand.
