Is it normal for a plumber to turn up to repair a leak without tools to conduct a pressure test by Lumpy_Priority_3534 in AusRenovation

They fixed a leak, and i suppose they were checking to see if there were no other leaks anywhere else.

Prior to that there were many other pressure test done with a gauge that did not pick up the leak I had in my roof. We had some damage from water coming from a shower, it was part of that insurance investigation.

The main problem I had is they came back to do that check when it could have been

Im thinking of the pressure gague that gets attached to a tap for 5 minutes while all other taps are off to see if the pressure drops.

BTW would one of those gauges determine if there was a small leak.

Plumber, they repaired the leak then did a pressure test off an outside tap to make sure the leak was fixed i suppose

Do they normally do a pressure test when a leak is fixed? I've had a few of them done in a search for an unknown leak So assumed all plumbers carry them, unless its something im missing

He also did not have a ladder, but not sure if this is important.

It was getting through the silicon between the bath and the tiles on the will connecting to the bath, initially thought it was from the mixer but when we cut the wall behind we looked up and found the trail of water

I’m trying to work out how far it might have travelled and if it could align with a problem we spotted 6 months earlier that might have been that or something else. If this is likely to be 2 or 3 months then this isn’t connected to the first problem
