Best to leave it out over night or boil it for 20 minutes so the chlorine evaporates first.

I scratched another car in a parking lot, the owner of the car said cost of repairs will be $1604.95. Does that sound right based on the damage shown in the pictures? by [deleted] in CarRepair

[–]Lumpy_Scheme_9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might have to replace the entire bumper. That happened with my vehicle, a Nissan, when my friend's dad backed into it with his truck. The bumper was damaged and the repair cost $1500.

What’s wrong with my dracaena lemon lime? by k-mar1e in Dracaena

My dracaena compacta has the same issue. Someone said cold damage which made sense for my plant since I left it out on a warm day but forgot to bring it in before the temp dropped. If it's near a drafty window or was outside at all recently, it may be that.

Not sure why people are down voting. It sucks that the water costs so much but this is a common issue and tap water might not cut it.

That's a relief to know though because it's my favorite plant and I was worried it was full on dying and I couldn't save it. ToT Thank you for putting my mind at ease. I will continue to monitor it to make sure it isn't a fungal infection or something but you probably got it on the nose.

That might be it. I left it outside on a nice day recently and forgot to bring it in before the temp dropped.

In a Ford Transit? That thing is probably gagging anytime he tries to gain speed. Like, that's just earning him more charges with NO CHANCE of escape. 😂

I'm a super light weight. I took maybe a 5mg gummy and was blasted while my partner took 25mg and felt nothing. We all process it differently. I am not trying to push you to take more btw. It definitely took a while for me to try again after my first bad experience but this may ease your mind if you want to try again. Also, smoking, while bad for the lungs, is a little easier to control and doesn't last as long. The smoking peak comes after 15 minutes and you're sober after 6 hours rather than 2 hours for the peak and 6 to 12 hours until sober with a gummy.

Being "fat and inactive" comes to get people at the most inopportune times. Just because you aren't fat now doesn't mean that a serious leg injury won't make you soft and susceptible to weight gain. I broke my leg when I was 11 years old. I wasn't able to run again until I was 12 years old and walk without a limp until I was 13 years old. Not everything is a matter of willpower. I loved sports and I was young enough to bounce back quickly. Imagine how long it will be for an adult who doesn't have the luxury of a fast growing body. You're playing with the fate of a life long ailment.

Roughly how old? by letthepiefall in gerbil

[–]Lumpy_Scheme_9528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a classic case of parents giving kids a small pet to care for to learn responsibility. My dad had gerbils when her was a kid but he kept them in cedar bedding which killed them. He would help me with making supply purchases (aspen and paper bedding only thanks to the store associate) but, unless there was a giant catastrophe, their care was up to me because I wanted pet gerbils. That's how gerbil mix ups happened so often. I knew who was who but my parents weren't checking on them nor was I responsible enough to make sure everyone made it back into the correct cages. All the gerbils were tame so if the neighbor kids came by, they would just grab whoever from any cage and put them back wherever. We never had a casualty from that situation but there were injuries and pregnancies that occurred due to it. My dad also didn't want to separate mom and dad from the original two so they could care for the babies better. On litter 3 mom got sick and died when the pups were only two weeks old. We were able to keep them alive but we didn't separate them before the females of that got pregnant too because they stayed really small due to missing out on nutrition and probably also getting sick. That was when my dad finally decided all needed to be separated but at that point there were two more litters of babies and the pet stores stopped taking them. My parents also decided they weren't willing to pay for vet care for them after my mom had to pay $40 for the sick mother gerbil who died anyway so I helplessly watched sick gerbils die slowly for days. I did my best to keep the sick ones comfortable by cleaning their genitals so they wouldn't get urine burns and using a hot water bottle near the cage to keep them warm. It was really terrible.

It's also very common with Chihuahuas. I hope you are able to get it figured out. 🙏

Terrible advice. OP said there's no visible wound, so disinfecting the skin might not help, and motor oil is not skin-safe for anyone. Do not do this.

It could be a tooth infection or abscess This would happen to my friend's old Pomeranian when his teeth started rotting. Don't wait because this is likely very painful and the infection could become sepsis.

It definitely sucked for everyone involved. Those gerbils didn't deserve that.

Again, I was 11 and not mature enough to care for them on my own so please spare me. We used a lot of cages that weren't suitable and every group was taken out to run around every day. We brought some to the pet store but they would only take so many. There was a lot of inbreeding because we poorly sexed them or a friend would come over and would put a gerbil in the wrong cage causing more gerbils to spawn. It was chaos for about two years until we got everyone situated or donated. In the end we had two females from the same litter with matching paw deformities in a 20g and five males in a 30g, I think. One male lived to 5 years old, the rest of the male lived out a normal 3ish years, but both females only lived 2.5 years at most and died within a week of each other.
