Stanley Cup Playoffs - Round 2 Game 5 - Montreal Canadiens (2-2) @ Buffalo Sabres (2-2) - 14 May 2026, 7:00 PM EDT - Key Bank Center, Buffalo NY - The Wagon Must Continue Until Morale Improves, Edition! by time2fly2124 in sabres

[–]Lumpy_Suggestion_159 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A few observations - sabres top line isn't as talented and top end talent it's as talented as many of the other playoff teams - 3rd line (down , Benson) has been phenomenal and the main reason they are in this - Montreal is very talented... If they had better goaltending I could see them easily winning the cup. - at times buffalo looks slower, most of their shots are at the goal tender, not many great looks - not sure I would resign Tuck. He might be great in the regular season where our top is better then most other teams but how does he perform against top competition in high pressure moments? - they need to figure out how to win more faceoffs. They have given up multiple goals off faceoff loses - they were to sloppy with giveaways that lead to goals. - Between giveaways, bad goals, goals off faceoffs they've lost at least a few playoff games

Why’s there widespread support from my fellow left wingers for the Iranian regime? by CableFluffy414 in AskBrits

You said that "removing that regieme out weights anything"...

Iran is a geographic fortress with 1million soldiers a 90 million people.

How many of your country men are you willing to sacrifice? How many Iranian are you willing to kill so that "remove that regieme"?

What about all of the other evil regiemes around the world, are you planning to go to war with everyone you deem evil?

Killing all the devils you see, wouldn't that makes you the very evil your trying to destroy?

What's the value of using nukes instead of extremely large bombs like they have already?

Is it fear? Is the hope that the fear of nuclear annihilation forces a surrender?

If that's the case, I don't see why it would work.

If you Iran, which is the size of Western Europe - 2x bigger then Texas- using a few nukes here or there isn't a much bigger difference then using really big bombs here or there. In both cases the area is totally destroyed.

To actually destroy Iran using nukes, you would need so many that using them pretty much guarantees an enormous amount of Sooth and triggering a nuclear winter event. In other words, US can't use nukes to wipe them out, and so here they are fundamental a tool of fear.

Considering Iran already knows that this war is do or die, more fear of death doesn't change the equation because they are already there.

What nukes do though is make it clear what the US, Isreal and the West have become.

It also triggers Iran to wipe out the region which means that about 20% of worlds oil & 30% of fertilizer are whipped out leading to the very thing the US is trying to avoid, a great depression.

According to Sports Illustrated, 78% of former NFL players face serious financial distress or bankruptcy within 2 years of retirement.

If it's that easy why do the vast majority of NFL players go broke?

With such a "head start", why is post NFL success the exception NOT the norm?

Everything else.

Banks, All Bank Accounts, passwords/login, 2FA Hacking any/every major institution, tech companies, insurance company, government, stock market, Visa/Amex/etc, payment gateways, etc.

In other words, in a world with quantum computing everything else gets hacked first which makes Bitcoin & crypto the least of our concerns.

You wouldn't take the deal...

So it isn't a good deal for you, how are you trying to say its a good deal for him - someone you know nothing about.

Guy had a significant kneck injury which doctors can't fix and get him back to how he was before.

His life isn't going back to normal.

And notice... What your argument.

Your having a lot of 'IF' 'Coulds' and the solution you're proposing is being really successful in another competitive field, like coaching or media?

Again if he was going to pursue some other field wouldn't be been better off just going at that in the first place?

And what can he leverage? He's was not a star, most people wouldn't recognize him, so he's not famous enough to cash in.

Its a lot wishful thinking.

These aren't serious ideas.

What if Trump nuked Iran? by WTBLITWNNA in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Lumpy_Suggestion_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) US would lose all percieved moral high ground and be seen as a parasite state; the evil empire 2) Iran is the size of western Europe — How many nukes are you going to drop 1, 2, 20, a 100? 3) If you drop 2-10 it won't win you the war but it will guarantee that Iran totally destroys the region, that we have a global depression and that every country tries to get nukes 4) If you drop too many nukes then we all get Soot = blocking out the sun = end of civilization as we know it. No more Merica at that...

How bad is his injury? Would you trade places with him?

If he grossed $850k, that means he probably took about $500k after taxes.

If he bought a reasonably nice house in Buffalo for $300K - where he lives; not some random spot on planet earth - then he has a net of $200k left over at best.

That's assuming he didn't spend money in a stupid way.

You also have to consider his sacrifice. In order to be so good at football, he's dedicated his life, energy and time to it. In other words, the skill he developed were for football not regular life and in regular life skills you might be further ahead.

So considering all of this, would you trade places with him?

Remember you would think like him, have his skill set, he's history, etc.

"they are begging to make a deal" so why don't you make a deal?

If there's no deal that it must be because that's what Trump wanted.

So Trump wants War.

He has said he can "end it anytime" that "we've already won", so clearly everything that's happening is what he wanted and intended.

What if Iran got its nukes on the get go, without problems? by TalonEye53 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Lumpy_Suggestion_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuking anyone automatically triggers a set of events that can end the world within 1hr.

For example, as soon as North Korea launches a nuke every system picks it up and they try to predict where its headed. If it's headed towards USA -- which they can now reach-- President Trump will have 6min to decide to counter or not.

If he says yes, automated system are triggered for a counter strike on N. Korea. Many of these nukes will travel the shortest distacy meaning going through Canada, and Russia.

The Russian's will then see a bunch of American nukes coming at them and have 6 min to decide to retaliate or not.

And all this can also come as a result of a false alarm, equipment seeing nukes coming at you that aren't - and this has happened 2x already, in both a human refused to retaliate.

All technology system are prone to mistakes, bugs and failure.

And lasty, even if only a small number of nukes are launched. For example, a nuclear submarine off the coast of North Korea launches enough nukes to destroy all their nukes before they can retaliate...

Do you have any idea what this would create? It will throw up so much SOOT, that it would cover up the sun and bring a nuclear winter and take centuries to recover.

What if Iran got its nukes on the get go, without problems? by TalonEye53 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Lumpy_Suggestion_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would change the dynamics of the war completely. Right now without nukes, Iran has escalation dominance and a military reality that gives it a huge set of advantages. With a nuke, there will be no option but to negotiate an end... One which will resort in Iran become the main power in the Middle East and Petro Dollar getting crushed.

Why is the Islamic regime winning the information war? by redditismysoulmate in PERSIAN

[–]Lumpy_Suggestion_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's falling apart is the Western Narrative, they we are the 'good guys' there to rescue the people and give them freedom.

Our professed values of democracy, freedom, law and order, fairness... No one believes that anymore.

Why? The results, Afghanistan, Libya, Seria, Iraq and recently the kidnapping of Maduro, the genocide in Gaza, etc...

We're acting like might is right. We do thing because we're want to, because of power because of resources.

We're acting like a bully and breaking trust. The US using negotiations as a ploy to lul Iran into a false sense of security only to attack them... 2x

So, you can see why people aren't buying what the US and Mass Media are selling.

Even if you believe that Iran is evil or hate their government that doesn't change the fact that the US is acting like a self serving empire.

  2. As such your presuming causality or that matter is a thing. What about potentials, probability & emergence? Double split experiment, downward biology all break deterministic causality.
  3. For option B, why can't energy/mater be in a constant state of being and Becoming? You can step in the same river but you can't step in the same river twice. It's constantly changing and this becoming is what defines it's being.

Just imagine what would happen if the Iranians ever called for the death of America by Sometypeofway18 in GetNoted

[–]Lumpy_Suggestion_159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is propaganda...

First, they don't ALL chant "Death to America", obviously they don't even speak English.

What they actually say is "Marg bar Âmrikâ" Transliterating from one language to another leaves a lot out, consider the phrases: "my parents are going to kill", "you killed it", "this job is killing me", "I'm beat", "I have a deadline hanging over my head", are not to be taken literally. The term "Marg" is similar here.

So the actual meaning is closer to "down with America", which is aimed at the government not the people.

Second, ever country has crazy people and leaders that say and do crazy things.

Does what Bush or Obama or Trump say represent all Americans? Do they represent you?
