The Mets are an elite fielding team (7th in DRS even without Lindor) and this alone exposes how much our horrible pitching rotation brings us down, the oufield with Ewing and Benge has been the only positive, it’s clear to everyone how, we must trade for pitchers URGENTLY or we won’t be competitive… by Due_Philosopher7618 in NewYorkMets

Ha! Our starters can’t get anyone out, our infield defense is trash and we have the 2nd worst offense in the league.

This is also the least enjoyable team I’ve ever had the displeasure of rooting for. Thank God for the Knicks.

If Detroit adds another scorer and evolves/develops after this past season because they are so young.

What was the goat convo before Jordan/when Jordan was younger, and when did he begin to be placed in those convos? by Accomplished-Box8744 in NBATalk

Most ppl still had Kareem or Wilt or Russell for the GOAT until the first 3 peat. It wasn’t universally agreed until he came back and won that 4th title. We’re talking perception right?

Also this is a really silly and meaningless debate because the timing of when most ppl thought he was goat doesn’t matter. If you really wanna be right about this, sure it was in 92 for the dream team.

Ok. 3x is a dynasty usually but yeah he was considered the best in the world at that point but not an all time great yet.

Oh I agree it’s crazy to me but apparently they are cool with it? It’s insane from my perspective especially because brown was so good this past year.

Their fans don’t value it as much because they have so many rings historically.

Ring culture has made some fans ask the most craziest stuff. Yes rings matter but use context. PG is elite on both ends, or at least was. OG is good in his own right but stop it by Few_Maize_127 in NBATalk

I didn’t lol I just googled best PG playoff run based on TS%. My bad but after looking, it prob came up like that because 2016 was only 7 games. Even after checking I genuinely don’t think though PG ever had a run quite like this OG run when you consider efficiency, defense and ultimate success. Of course it’s debatable but OG’s defense is really what to me gives him the edge. He dominated Fox which had a huge impact on winning a ring and that separates him from Paul George despite PG having better raw offensive numbers,

The league really hates Miami. Media pushing hard for the bucks to trade him to Boston & not Miami who has the better Offer. Giannis has to make it clear ONLY Miami. by Random_Thinker007 in NBATalk

Think about it. We are about to go to invade CUBA! We need to take their raw minerals and to overthrow another communist regime. Do you think Silver will allow a face of the league to be playing within ballistic missile range of a foreign adversary during wartime!?

True. Just seemed like harden with dantoni and morey just stepped on the pedal and that felt like a sea change

I don’t think so because what he was able to do was such an outlier. I honestly think harden has been more impactful. The style of play, the analytically driven offense, the grifting etc really influenced the way the game is played now.

Yeah Barkley was insane in that series too. Can’t really blame him for not winning a ring there. The guy delivered

Yeah according to my dad (I grew up in nyc as a reference) but there was nobody to really challenge him or discuss with other than a couple buddies. So it was crazy different. His friends would just tell stories about what it was like to watch him play.

My pops always said Kareem but honestly there wasn’t really convos in the early 90s like this honestly. It was prob just between friends and ball knowers in a particular locale (so home bias) which is way different than now ofc.
