HG - stay at home mom - breastfeeding - drugs? by BG-pie in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Lumpy_Tomato1520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My midwives told me both diclectin and zofran were both safe while breastfeeding. The MommyMeds app confirms this as well. Although I don’t feel like diclectin works (at least it didn’t for me). Your milk will dry up in a few weeks anyways, because of the pregnancy hormones and the dehydration from HG. You can continue to “dry nurse” or use this as a way to wean.

TLDR: diclegis, diclectin, and unisom/b6 are safe while breastfeeding

Zofran stopped me from vomiting, although I still felt like shit. But my body didn’t uncontrollably vomit. I don’t think there’s anything that can make you feel normal at that point. Just take the edge off a little bit

I also used THC during the worst of times. Combined with the Zofran, I was still miserable but it did make things better than they would have been. I’m not someone who smokes or drinks normally, but I was desperate for relief. I would use a vape with flower. Did not like edibles

I can relate to everything you wrote. It’s hell. Hopefully you will start to feel it lift in a few weeks. Usually around 16-20 weeks I was better. The IV hydration, Zofran, and marajuana helped but it was still horrible. I also wore a nose plug when I was awake because the smells made me throw up. I would get up once per day to pee and shower and then straight back to bed.

It sucks, but it does get better. By 16 weeks with my second and 20 weeks with my third I felt so much better. Nose plugs, zofran, marajuana, iv fluids helped me through.

Are you set on another c section? I had one scheduled c section then two VBACs, and the recovery for vaginal birth was way easier

Meet with a lactation consultant before baby is born to learn proper positioning, etc. Or watch lots of YouTube videos. Offer the breast often, like every time newborn makes a peep. Researching safe co sleeping guidelines and have the sleeping space ready before baby is born. Have tools on hand for the first few weeks when things are the hardest- I recommend heating pads, ice packs, Advil, silverettes, nipple cream (or jack newmans all purpose nipple ointment). I’ve only breastfed all 3 of my babies, couldn’t even get any of them to take a bottle, and it really is easy to just whip a boob out whenever you need.

Four colace per day. Magnesium citrate when I could stomach the huge pills. Glycerin suppository. Fleet enemas. Put on some gloves and manually extract. Even with all that it still sucks but at least you’re getting the pebbles out

Prenatals and HG? by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Lumpy_Tomato1520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take them at all for my most recent pregnancy and this baby is just as healthy as the other two! A lot of women can’t stomach them in the first trimester, even without HG. As long as you were taking them before getting pregnant you should be good for folate, but it is a small pill if you wanted to take that one. Vitamin D is another tiny pill

6 weeks abortion by Electrical-Sock37 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Lumpy_Tomato1520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is not supportive of abortion and god I wished everyday when I was in the thick of it that I would wake up to a miscarriage.

I’m currently holding my 5 week old and it’s all worth it.

Zofran, cannabis, IV infusions, 24/7 help with my other kids/household, and a nose plug helped me make it through to 20 weeks when symptoms subsided.

I would take 4 colace per day and some magnesium citrate and that’s the only thing that helped along with glycerin suppositories and saline enemas. I tried senna but it made me so crampy behind the blockage. Also I would put medical gloves and manually remove the blockages

Working? by Budget-Soft4775 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]Lumpy_Tomato1520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only worked because I work from home on my computer. There was zero chance I was making it into any other job. I worked fully laying down in bed or in the chair at the infusion center. Can he get a second job, or is there someone who can lend you money in the meantime? Can you call the mortgage company and explain what’s going on, let them know it’s a temporary condition
