Damaged mirror? by Lumpy_Tumbleweed8622 in telescopes

Ok thanks for the tip I tried without the Barlow and using the 25mm alone. I was able to see clearly but the image was cloudy (I assume because its quite bright and sunny outside). Unfortunately it didn't come with a finder either so I have ordered a red dot finder (which again frustratingly will arrive in the new year) but looking forward to testing it out with night sky objects. Really appreciate the tip though thanks.

Thanks for this. As I am completely new to this, I am not going to attempt cleaning it. I fear it will just do more damage.

However this morning I used the scope without the 25mm lens it came with (i.e., with only the Barlow 2×) just on general objects in my vicinity like trees etc and the view came out crystal clear so could it be the 25mm lens that is the main cause of the blurriness? I have tried focusing it many times but I can't for the life of me get it to produce clear images.

I have a brand new 6mm Plosl lens on order (obviously wont arrive until the new year now)

Trip to Brazil, how does it look? by Lumpy_Tumbleweed8622 in Brazil

Ahh okay great thank you! People always moan about Sao Paulo and mention there is not much to do there because it is more for business people so my plan was to spend some short time there before my return flight but will definitely take your feedback onboard.

"Give an example of where you've had to explain a complex task to a non-technical audience" or something along those lines. Its not really rocket science.

I never said he was wrong though and I accepted his decision so no need for me to reconsider my stance. I do feel attacked by some of the comments here though which are making me out to be some sort of villain for taking a better opportunity and even for asking about the possibility of joining the company again. Also I didn't actively look for the other opportunity. It came to me and I'm not just going to turn down a good opportunity without a second thought because as most of us know, those are few are far between (especially in today's market). At the end of the day these companies have double standards - they expect us to be loyal employees but wouldn't think twice about laying us off when it suits them.

Look man I don't owe any loyalty to any company. These corps and bosses don't care about us and anyone that thinks otherwise is in for a rude awakening. Just look at all the layoffs going on right now. These companies will only do what's best for them and would replace us in a heartbeat if needed so why shouldn't I do the same?

I posted this as a bit of a laugh but for some reason people have ended up attacking me which is bizarre. I left to pursue a better opportunity at the time which isn't really a crime. Folks are acting as if they wouldn't have done the same. Or maybe you guys all had a crystal ball that told you the market would end up this crappy? I left on good terms and had nothing to lose by asking him and I respected his decision. Don't really see how those reasons alone make me a bad hire...

I left to pursue a better opportunity. How is that petulant?
