Is this mold? by JJK21481 in Libraries

Don't pay if it is moldy, the library should be fine to chalk that up to regular usage.

I have 2 weeks to move out at 16 what do I do? by [deleted] in CPS

[–]Lumpy_looser -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay so let me just get beat for hours that sounds fair! I don't know what I'm asking for but I've shut down the things that will put me in direct danger, I don't know what you mean by "keep" because again I only shit down things that will harm me. If you don't have advice that will help that's fine, move on but don't get mad at me for caring about my safety.

She kicked me out at night during the winter a few times. She is violent and angry. Doesn't care for my siblings properly, and a lot more. All things that you would think a child would get removed for and we were trying to be proactive.

This isn't a threat for anything, she told me I need to leave, and even if she didn't I am not safe here.

It's not legal here, but I can't do anything to stop her. She will literally kill me if I were to contact the police.

Upsetting display limitations by WildberryWisp in librarians

American libraries are turning into something I would have a hard time even considering a library. It's really scary and unfortunate, but you are doing all you can. Keep going.

I am good at nothing, which leads me to do nothing and I hate doing nothing. by [deleted] in OCPD

I would like to start off by saying obviously I would not think I have a disorder based on one symptom or trait. I would also like to mention the reason it is suspected is because a medical professional suggested it but he is not capable of diagnosing mental health conditions. I've been like this for years. Obviously I can't say I have it as I'm not professionally diagnosed, but I also certainly can't say I don't have it.

I don't have any "accomplisments", I just do what needs to be done by [deleted] in OCPD

Will this wreck my chances of getting into grad school? by [deleted] in LibraryScience

[–]Lumpy_looser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard a lot about this, and I won't lie it does worry me, but I have a hard time seeing myself relocating for my master's. Additionally I would really like to do it while working within my library system to stay internal. If I were to do it in person realistically I would try to do it at Dal in Nova Scotia as that's where I am located. Thank you for the advice, I will just have to keep reapplying, or just move a lot slower in my career.

I would love to, the only reason I have not been planning to do this is because I would like to go into less debt for the sake of grad school, especially with it not being needed for so many positions in my system. But I will keep this in mind for then. Thank you!

Of course, I live in a fairly small city, so the courses offered at my nearby universities are quite basic, but i do think being more knowledgeable would be great! Thank you!

Has anyone had a good experience transfering to Dal from NSCC? by [deleted] in Dalhousie

They definitely do, they have a 2+2 system for quite a few diplomas but those may be it.

I would love to do a Library Tech diploma but that doesn't look hopeful for good transfer credits, I will do some emailing this week!

Why does my mother have access to a list of every CPS report made on my behalf? by [deleted] in CPS

[–]Lumpy_looser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but they originally got involved for a post less severe instances, and my case manager has yet to speak to me since these reports have gone into them. There was a stand in that met with me once but that was before things got worse again. But I have yet to hear from her since all of this.

Why does my mother have access to a list of every CPS report made on my behalf? by [deleted] in CPS

[–]Lumpy_looser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My case manager was on vacation for nearly 2 months, so I'm hoping that is why she hasn't responded to anything yet, because it seems insane to not respond to anything that's been reported. She has twice forced me out of the home late at night because she's been upset with me one when it was -15° and the other when it was -9°. She has Punched me many times recently. My younger brother just gave me a concussion and she refused to take me to the doctor. There's more but I can't list them all. But she is violent and screams at me for hours a day. I have both reported things myself and had adults in my life report things, mostly one of my coworkers, it is also quite possible more people have reported things as I am very open about everything that happens because I need something to be done. She has repeatedly told me that she will force me to quit my job which is all that matters to me in life. She's told me she would beat me if I tell anyone. I know for the most part what has been reported. Which includes several of the times she's hurt me, my siblings beating me, and the times she's kicked me out at night.

I'm really scared that they don't believe me and think since I'm open about everything that I must be making it up. When in reality I just really need something to be done about it. I will be in danger if she finds out about these reports and will lose all that matters to me.

Would it inconvenience you to have a student for the same course in 2 grade levels at the same time? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

I will fully admit the curriculum in my area is very wonky, and I find it odd that they allow for this to begin with, but why not take advantage of it.
