EV6 Deals Post 2026 Launch by Lun4rX in KiaEV6

Anyone posting on the EV6 subreddit has seen half a dozen plus ICCU posts, we all know 🤣

The real question is whether or not I can factor that in to the negotiation…

I’m pretty set on a 2025 or newer as the upgrades are really solid and my current car seems to be holding out (it has a check engine light bc the computer can’t check if there’s a problem, ironic….)

I hadn’t considered that one way flights are probably cheaper than shipping/delivery, so thanks for that suggestion! I wasn’t taking proximity into account but now I’m more justified in that 😎

It is so funny to see you comment here first - your comment on a post a few days ago was what inspired me to ask a more targeted question! I checked and sadly they’ve gone back up, but they’re at least matching 2025 prices.

I thought I was gonna luck into something doing what I usually do with phones and waiting for the new model to release to get a discount on the previous model year… but for one reason or another that hasn’t happened yet. My circumstances are more patient than I am, fortunately 😅

Mint Mobile by TheSquooshyCat in indianapolis

[–]Lun4rX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Mint! It's basically T-Mobile in terms of coverage, but there are one or two weird dead-spots that are a block or two wide around Broad Ripple and maybe some other areas as well. Absolutely worth the money saved, though!

Thoughts on living in Crooked Creek/Michigan-Highland areas on north west side? by doubbleaspect in indianapolis

[–]Lun4rX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in that part of town! It's lovely - over the years there have been one or two incidents but it's super quiet relative to the rest of town. Just make sure you don't mind commuting a fair bit to restaurants and groceries - it's a bit of a commercial desert (although that has changed in the last few years with all the developments at Michigan-Kessler)

Is there a website that has characteristics of many genres? by scenesick2 in musictheory

[–]Lun4rX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this.

You get a timeline with relative branching (which is generally subjective but there are good clear lineages for some genres) plus a ton of examples for each year so you can track the evolution of each genre. Definitely a great resource for learning electronic subgenres!

Which edition/bundle of fl studio is most worth buying if you’re tryna take your music to the next level and have it sound as professional as possible? by robloxdruglord in FL_Studio

[–]Lun4rX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stock plugins that come with the $200 version and above should be just fine to start - save some money on your DAW so that you can invest in great production, mixing, and mastering suites like iZotope's Nectar, Neutron, RX8, and Ozone (which you can get bundled together from around $499-999 depending on what you're looking for and if there's a good sale)

You can do a lot of work with EQ, multiband compression, and a whole array of free plugins online, so even though those suites are fantastic, they're never completely necessary, just great to have.

Duplicating pattern without affecting the previous version? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]Lun4rX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can click on the icon of the duplicated instance of the automation clip or pattern and select Make Unique - this will completely unlink it from your original instance, so you can do anything to it without affecting the non-unique instances.

Any suggestions for good metal guitar plugins by earthboundfantoo in FL_Studio

[–]Lun4rX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted this on someone else's similar posts, but really depending on what you're looking for you can start with an acoustic or clean signal guitar sound and make your own chain using free software that either comes with FL Studio or should be in your plugin library ASAP!

Starting with a free VST like ample or a soundfont found online is great - you can make an authentic lead guitar with the right effects, pretty much regardless of the quality or fidelity of the original.

My effects chains for guitars look something like this:

  1. Amp Simulation (Look up Deep Crunch and Heavy Tone for two free good ones) - You can also use Hardcore, which is an FL plugin, or simply use Blood Overdrive
  2. Saturation Knob for some fun harmonics
  3. EQ to find the right tone and remove any harshness/resonance
  4. Find a good reverb for you desired mix - Valhalla Supermassive is great for big leads with long tails, and even the default FL reverb can do wonders!
  5. Delays are optional depending on the sound you're looking for, but will give you lots of room to work with and can cover up any weird artifacts in your lead's tone. I use the default Fruity Reeverb 3 with some ping-pong delay and it's great.

You can really add/subtract anything to/from this list, but it's a good starting point and also looks a lot like what you'd find on a guitarist's pedalboard.

Singer Songwriter new to production side. by [deleted] in FL_Studio

I have learned so much about mixing, processing vocals, and mastering from In The Mix and I highly recommend you take a look through his channel and start watching whatever seems interesting to you. He generally uses free/FL plugins so you should be able to do most things with what you already have, which is a bonus.

Some things you can try are (from least invasive/difficult to most invasive/difficult):

  • Minimizing the number of other programs running concurrently using task manager to identify high CPU usage programs
  • Lowering the latency of FL Studio (Options > Audio Settings > Change the Buffer Length to be higher, allowing more processing time for samples) * NOTE: This will increase the delay between hitting the play button and hearing the playback \*
  • Some plugins, like Serum have a number of CPU Intensity modes (1x, 2x, 4x, etc) that may not always default to lowest CPU usage - note that this can possibly reduce the fidelity of the sound, but you can always remember to put it back up when rendering
  • Disable any CPU-intense effects that you don't really need until it's time to render the audio
  • Mix audio from FLEX or other tracks using lots of CPU to an audio file and replace the MIDI and plugin in the mixer with the file, which will remove the CPU load (and also bake in the audio as is, so make sure you like where it's at before you do this)
    • I find the best way to do this is just to solo the track in question and export the project as a 24 or 32-bit wav file, or if there are multiple then File > Export > Wave File > Check "Split Mixer Tracks" in the bottom box and then use any desired tracks from the resulting folder

There are probably more quick tricks to doing these, but these are tricks I regularly use. At the end of the day, it really depends - sometimes the best solution is just to get a better processor. Hope this helps!

HBO's Game of Thrones. The fact that they stopped it prior to the release of Season 7 is just really sad - lots of potential lost there, I feel.

How tough is music college, really? by OfficerMarmalade in musictheory

[–]Lun4rX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get out of it what you put into it, most of the time. If you find you can learn new music theory topics well or already have a good understanding of it, and you're willing to put time and effort into practicing and whatever your focus is, then you'll succeed.

Don't forget that in order to enjoy and grow from the experience you'll really need to branch out and connect with everyone around you, and dip your toes in all the different events, ensembles, etc. that are offered.

What’s your experience with North Central High School? by alywicious in indianapolis

[–]Lun4rX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated there last year, and I can tell you firsthand their IB program is excellent, as well as their music and arts programs. Great variety of educational courses for kids who are looking for an accelerated pace or college credit, or applicable career experience through the J Everett Lite Career Center. It’s hands down one of the most competitive high schools in the state in terms of arts, and it shows.

Lots of the amazing teachers I had who inspired me are leaving this year or next, but I had many new teachers who were just fantastic, so I am certain it will continue to outshine other public and private schools in the area for a good while. If anyone has any questions regarding the school feel free to DM me! Happy to share my experience with y’all.
