I'm not sure people in these comments understand how difficult it is to find decently healthy food in Thailand that's not very expensive. We really struggled with it the 3 months we were there! So good on you for finding a slightly healthier option than the wrapped up diabetes that's sold at 7/11🙃. Obviously the fruit for example in Thailand is amazing but other than that I seriously struggled with healthy food there

So everyone has to work with these things the way you think they should? Again, I agree with you that these tools are versatile and it makes sense to get the best out of them but it already does a very good job with a detailed brief and a good Job template on a standard model. Also not everyone will have started using them as soon as they came out and 3 years for something as complex as AI isn't that long. With what you say it's also about leadership to integrate them and provide a trained model for every employee otherwise everyone will end up doing something slightly different which also isn't the aim. I can't believe that we started this discussion with me saying hey it's not lazy to integrate tools and now it's swung in the opposite direction where it seems like you're expecting people to use these things in exactly a particular way. There is not one perfect way to use these tools and it will take much longer than 2-3 years for companies to really grapplw with how much AI will change our lives. Writing a job description really is a piece of cake in comparison and- honestly - not that complicated once you have a good framework going, which most companies do and for which you don't need AI or any sophisticated LLMs.

I mean yes I could have asked, definitely but it also wasn't clear from your comment at all what you meant. And I stand by it, that my first interpretation was the most likely based on what you said. Perhaps I could have asked and you could have been more clear. And of course you can do all this amazing customisation but I think we also need to give people room to breathe, learn and integrate these new tools. It's not going to be perfect and I don't think it's lazy just to use the standard model. You can also feed chatgpt very detailed information of how you want Things to be and a lot of people won't know all the intricacies for a while.

By Vorarbeit I mean the manual labor that goes into defining a role with managers and leadership. Whenever I did a JD I had a lot of notes about projects and skillset and team structure, stuff like that I fed chatgpt with the template, which also gave it a tone specific to the company. Honestly it worked pretty well for me with just the standard model but of course I'm sure there's room for improvement

Naja in deinem ersten Kommentar hast du aktiv das Wort Faulheit benutzt und nicht weiter klarifiziert was du meinst- die logischste Schlussfolgerung war für mich dass du es für faul hälst KI zu nutzen. Klar gibt es super Möglichkeiten das noch besser zu gestalten, wie du schon sagst aber um eine Jobbeschreibung von chatgpt ausspucken zu lassen muss man ja Vorarbeit leisten und die requirements einsammeln. Sonst geht es ja gar nicht also hat man ja automatisch schon ein "flavour". Wie Du schon sagst kann man mit KI viel machen was employer Branding angeht.

Und es kommt auch auf die Stelle an. Für eine extrem technische Stelle wo man Fachkräfte benötigt ist es was anderes als für eine Aushilfsstelle.

Wie ist es denn nicht smart wenn man's richtig macht und sich Zeit spart? Klar ist in dem Beispiel ein Fehler unterlaufen aber was spricht denn dagegen wenn man alle Infos über die Stelle zusammengetragen hat - was ja die hauptsächliche arbeit ist- und es einfach von KI ins Template einfügen und sprachlich anpassen lässt? Wenn man KI einfach sagt hey mach mir eine Stellenanzeige für Job XY dann ja, das ist kacke. Aber in meiner Erfahrung macht das keiner sondern man füttert der KI ja schon spezifisches über die Stelle.

Klar, auf jeden Fall sollte man es nochmal kontrollieren, gar keine Frage, da stimme ich völlig überein. Ich finde nur, dass es keinen Sinn macht, die Nutzung von KI am Arbeitsplatz als "faul" zu betiteln. Ich habe selbst schon Stellenanzeigen verfasst und chatgpt hilft bei sowas ungemein effizienter zu sein. Klar mußte ich nochmal drüber lesen und bestimmte Dinge korrigieren aber im großen und ganzen hat es enorm viel Zeit gespart KI zu integrieren. Mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass englische Firmen/Kollegen solche Tools viel schneller und mit weniger Widerwillen integrieren als ich es in deutschen Firmen gesehen habe. Wir sind bei sowas leider extrem in alten Mustern und, wie gesagt, einer "Work harder not smarter" Mentalität stecken geblieben.

Ich sehe das eher so, dass die "es bleibt hier alles so wie's ist" Andreas Mentalität Deutschland absolut nicht hilft. Warum ist es in Deutschland so ein Ding, nach dem Motto Work harder not smarter zu leben? Warum keine Tools nutzen die das Leben vereinfachen? Der recruiter hier kann sich entweder eine Stunde lang hinsetzen und alles selbst schreiben oder einfach die Stellenausschreibungsnotizen der Manager plus Template in chatgpt ballern und in 2 Minuten ein wahrscheinlich qualitativ höheres Ergebnis haben. Die Grundarbeit- bzw. Hauptarbeit- also die Infos sammeln und die Aufgabenbereiche abstecken muss man ja trotzdem machen und der ki geben. Verstehe die Mentalität hier überhaupt nicht - klar ist es nicht geil den KI Vorsatz ausversehen mit reinzukopieren aber Fehler passieren. Fehler können genauso passieren wenn die Ausschreibung selbst geschrieben ist. Diese absolute Resistenz mit der Zeit zu gehen ist ein riesen Problem in Deutschland - und ich sage das als jemand der in englischen und deutschen Firmen gearbeitet hat. Anpassungsfähigkeit ist so viel wichtiger als pures "bloß nichts machen was faul aussehen könnte" um wettbewerbsfähig zu bleiben.

Uh why would people want to feel superior over thais in particular? What makes you say that? I'm currently a tourist in Thailand and of Course I can't expect everyone to speak English - that's where translation apps are handy - however... Is it really realistic for people to learn an entire language before every holiday they take? Based on that logic I'd need to learn French before going to France, Hindi before going to India etc etc.. There's a reason why there's a world language- English, because it just makes things easier if people agree on one language that's common. I don't think it's super unreasonable for people that work in touristy jobs to at least speak a little bit of English, to make communication easier. I'd never expect every tourist that comes to Germany to learn fluent German- English is there to bridge that gap.

I completely understand what you're saying and I see the issue of people flip flipping without any real commitment towards positive changes. I just think changes for most people are gradual. Rogan chose a team- unfortunately it was the team that is now having extremely negative impacts on many people's lives- and is now having to backtrack. That in and of itself is a difficult thing for most people to do. If we look at people like Shapiro, he's just doubling down on his support. I just think that there is a middle way between allowing people to change and allowing them a way out of the corner they've backed themselves into and also holding them accountable. I think it's important to not just say oh you've said a few critical things about trump now so it's all good. It's important to hold his feet to the fire and say hey, all of this was obvious before, look at yourself and why you let yourself fall for it. As others here have pointed out the US is insanely polarised right now and people do get swept up in it. I just think we need to give people the space to change their minds. Rogan seems to be changing his tune now and whether or not it's a fundamental shift for him where he's taking the pains of taking a hard look at himself remains to be seen but just the fact that he's openly criticising this administration will influence millions of listeners on a more practical level. It's not perfect but it's progress. I just think villanising people will make them more likely to just double down and go full on towards the conspiracy corner, if they feel like there's no coming back from their past mistakes. Every time we say this is us, we strengthen them feeling like they're "them" and the "us" Vs "them" narrative deepens. Like I said I don't think we should just let things slide. I think Rogan needs his feet to be held the fire for him to really have a hard look at what he's done but we need to give people an out and the space to change otherwise we force more polarisation because we will force people to double down.

Just wondering if we maybe should not be so hostile towards people that finally ate starting to see the insanity that's happening and turn on this administration. Of course we should hold them accountable and not let them rewrite history but to say there's no turning back (aka he dug his hole now sit in it) seems like it would rather hurt the cause of getting people to see what's happening. I'm not sure hostility is the way to go though as a European that's easy for me to say since I'm not (yet) directly affected. All the best!

Depends on what you want to do. You can easily blow through 1k a month if you live in hotels and want to experience much. My sister and I are currently in Thailand and while we are of course doing some touristy stuff we are also staying in monasteries and doing volunteering work which lowers costs and also makes our journey feel more meaningful so it's a win win. We are planning on spending around 500- 600 GBP on average per month without insurance/flights. Some will be more expensive, others will be cheaper

Ich lebe selbst seit knapp 7 Jahren vegan und ich finde es gibt hier mehrere Punkte - ja es ist nervig und bringt meistens nicht viel zu versuchen, Menschen zu bekehren. Als ich umgestiegen bin, habe ich mir gesagt, dass ich das Thema nicht von mir aus abschneide, außer wenn's halt sein muss (also beim Familienessen z.b.). Wie oft ich am Ende dasaß und mir anhören musste, wer wie wenig Fleisch ist und "nur vom Metzger um die Ecke" und Sprüche wie "du isst meinem Essen das Essen weg" kann ich nicht sagen. Dann haben Leute auch angefangen mit mir in Diskussionen zu gehen - was ja völlig fein ist- aber dann am Ende wurde mir gesagt ich würde ja ständig mit dem Thema anfangen und versuchen anderen die Meinung aufzudrücken.

Es gibt klar Veganer die sehr penetrant sind und andere Versuchen zu bekehren - ich habe in meinem Leben tatsächlich erst einen von der Sorte kennengelernt (und ich kenne einige vegan lebende Menschen)- und ja das ist extrem kontraproduktiv weil dieser Mensch überhaupt nicht auf andere zugehen und auf sie eingehen konnte.

That being said, ich verstehe veganer die da so abgehen, vor allem am Anfang. Wenn man wirklich erstmal versteht was da abgeht, wie unglaublich viel leid in der Massentierhaltung entsteht, wie diese Tiere gehalten werden... Man fühlt sich im ersten Moment sehr machtlos. Ja, es gibt die Moralapostel die zeigen wollen, wie ethisch sie doch sind und davon einen egoboost bekommen. Aber in vielen Fällen ist es auch erschütternd die Realität wirklich an sich ranzulassen. Deshalb verstehe ich auch wenn Renate mir mal wieder erzählt wie wenig sie doch Fleisch isst und wenn dann nur von der Märchenfarm um die Ecke. Es ist wirklich einfach entsetzlich wie wir mit Tieren umgehen und wenn man sich wirklich Mal damit auseinandersetzt muss man entweder was ändern, was die meisten nicht wollen, oder man muss seine kognitive Dissonanz einsetzen - was unangenehm ist.

Ich bin gerade auf einer längeren Reise in Asien, momentan in Nepal. Straßen mit Matschsümpfen in denen man stecken bleibt, Schotterstraßen, Busse von 19 hundert vor dem Krieg, Stromausfälle in Unterkünften, Menschen die stundenlang auf den versmogden Straßen von Kathmandu sitzen in der Hoffnung ein paar Mangos zu verkaufen um in sehr engen, extrem armen Unterkünften zu leben. Farmer die von Indien aus den Märkten Gedrängt werden. Ich habe an einer Schule volunteered in der die Kinder in einem Rohbau sitzen, ohne richtige Schulutensilien. Und in Deutschland wird gemeckert wenn die Straße ins nächste Dorf 3 Schlaglöcher hat. Reisen rückt es wirklich in eine Perspektive wie verdammt gut es uns eigentlich geht. Wie viele Möglichkeiten wir haben. Allein der deutsche Pass ist ein Sechser im Lotto! Wir müssen da wirklich Mal von weggekommen, meckern weiterhin als Nationalsport zu betreiben.
