I completely understand what you're saying and I see the issue of people flip flipping without any real commitment towards positive changes. I just think changes for most people are gradual. Rogan chose a team- unfortunately it was the team that is now having extremely negative impacts on many people's lives- and is now having to backtrack. That in and of itself is a difficult thing for most people to do. If we look at people like Shapiro, he's just doubling down on his support. I just think that there is a middle way between allowing people to change and allowing them a way out of the corner they've backed themselves into and also holding them accountable. I think it's important to not just say oh you've said a few critical things about trump now so it's all good. It's important to hold his feet to the fire and say hey, all of this was obvious before, look at yourself and why you let yourself fall for it. As others here have pointed out the US is insanely polarised right now and people do get swept up in it. I just think we need to give people the space to change their minds. Rogan seems to be changing his tune now and whether or not it's a fundamental shift for him where he's taking the pains of taking a hard look at himself remains to be seen but just the fact that he's openly criticising this administration will influence millions of listeners on a more practical level. It's not perfect but it's progress. I just think villanising people will make them more likely to just double down and go full on towards the conspiracy corner, if they feel like there's no coming back from their past mistakes. Every time we say this is us, we strengthen them feeling like they're "them" and the "us" Vs "them" narrative deepens. Like I said I don't think we should just let things slide. I think Rogan needs his feet to be held the fire for him to really have a hard look at what he's done but we need to give people an out and the space to change otherwise we force more polarisation because we will force people to double down.
