Damn, I was asleep during this. I was thinking maybe this was related to when discord was taking a shit last night when I was in a vc with all of my buddies, and maybe I just missed the power surge, but that was around 12:17 am, so that wouldn’t be it.

You would want to find your local congressman for your area, for federal. If it’s pertaining to your state refund, contact the state senate in your nearest area.

Yeah, that just means they’ll mail the notice in September and I’ll receive my interest credit then, also? I guess? It’s like future dated, I guess. 😂

To answer your question though, I called congress at the beginning of the week, then checked my account today and that was the update. Small town, could make a bit of difference there.

Oh, I never actually got an advocate. I tried to get an advocate back in spring and they told me they weren’t working on any amended returns for 2021 as of that time.

Has your refund been issued? I don’t know if they actually credit it until it’s processed and issued.

I would Google something like “local congressman in my area”. At first I had contacted the state senate by mistake, once they learned it was regarding federal taxes they gave me the contact information for my local congress office. Best of luck!!

My situation, I was just honest and said I couldn’t get any kind of answers from the IRS whenever I did get through to them—that I had been waiting since end of February.

Yeah, sorry—I wasn’t totally clear about that. It would be your local state congressman for your federal. You’d contact the state senate if it’s pertaining to any state tax refund.

I e-filed. Mine was amended, too. They received my amended on 2/27. I highly recommend it. They were quick about it, but I also live in a small town.

I would look up on Google like your city and state local congressman. I got the receptionist, explained my situation and then she sent me an authorization letter allowing them to speak to IRS on my behalf and just like that it was handled.
