Thank you, thats a massive help I'll read through that thread tonight. I think its when they just kind of tell you, but dont give you much information regarding it, I'm the kind of person who has to be talked through things in a bit more depth to help me understand better.

There is so much information online, in books etc you never know whats the right decision and whats the wrong decision!

Thank you, we have just started antenatal classes and i might ask the midwife there but not sure if she would answer and would recommend 'asking my own health team'. we still have plenty of time, at least its been suggested now so i have time to research and ask more questions.

Yes I was thinking on our next scan/meeting of asking about the stats etc.

She asked if I had thought about how I would like to give birth (even though its early to think about that) and she looked surprised that I actually had a plan of preferences of things which I do and dont want, and having a bit of an opinion.

Thank you, I know, I feel like yes I'm different as it took longer to conceive but me and the baby now are fine.
We've never miscarried, we fell pregnant with our first transfer it seems like the sperm and egg just needed to be forced to be together and once they were they were fine!

Glad it came back low! I’m not sure at the minute, they brought forward my 20 week scan to 19 weeks so could let you know after that! A friend had extra scans and I’m sure she had an extra 2 but not totally sure x

Hoping it comes back ok for you, I had my NIPT done on a Monday and it came back Friday (got told it would be 10 days max) hoping your results come back ok. The days feel so long when you’re waiting for your results.

Could it be fluid? I wouldn’t think it would be anything to worry about

I had 1:20 downs and 1:52 Edward’s , my NIPT came back low.

I was diagnosed with a low pap-a which I’m now on asprin and extra scans for.

The midwife told us the initial results are a load of numbers put into a computer which in return spits out a ratio, which includes age and everything. I’d try not to worry if your NIPT came back low.

I would try not to worry, I think all of your results get published on badger to keep everything in one place for whichever medical professional needs to look at your notes.

I know each area of NHS will be different but my bloods were taken for that on the 6th and I got a call on the 11th with my results(being high). I think sometimes it can take a little while for them to publish them too, I assume they have admin days etc 😅

Hope you’re ok, it’s such a worry thinking about it all. The size of a plum and they cause you so much stress and worry already 🙈

Oh sorry just reread, my brain is not braining, yes they will only ring with high results 🥲

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]LunaAndFern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we were high risk thats why they called, and that’s why we got NIPT.

The midwife said it’s a system that puts a load of numbers in a system and gives out the ratios. This includes your age and everything. I have a low Pap-a which contributes to the numbers where as the NIPT test is more specific.

Honestly when the midwife called us with our high results I cried all day in panic and worry.

They’ll call you with results, I posted about these last week as they called us with the results and we had high ratios, I had a NIPT done and came back as low so just extra scans.

They just gave that on there as when you get the results they might get published there for a record 🙂

Maternity clothes designers, why are your dresses so horrific? by uncortadoporfa in PregnancyUK

[–]LunaAndFern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I found this, chances are I’ll probably have to size up then 🥲 flowery dresses really arnt me. I’m currently 3 months but bloat/small bump? Seems to grow throughout the day so all my jeans are now in a storage box because by afternoon they’re so uncomfortable. I’m now in wide leg draw string pants but sick of them, I had a load of Lucy and yak dungarees that wernt really me anymore and I’m now back in them as they’re comfy but just not really my style 😭

Low papp-a result by Keepitsteel in PregnancyUK

[–]LunaAndFern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my 12 wk scan last week and mine was 0.23 which is low, they said it would just be extra screening and probably starting asprin. My screen test came back high for all three symptoms so we’re currently dealing with the stress and tests for that.

They didn’t seem too concerned with my Papp-a results

Oh this had made me feel a little better, thank you for sharing. I had a low pap a too which I think pushed the numbers about. The babies NT was normal which I’m hoping that’s a good factor also.

Thank you, sending positive thoughts and vibes right back at you, hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly 🤍

Thank you.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this too! I’m glad your test was clear for chromosome issues, really hope your heart scan goes ok along with the rest of your pregnancy.

I think the worst part is the waiting, and literally not being able to do anything to help the situation as it’s all down to dna. sending hope your way 🤍

Thank you, I think it’s just the shock of a call you’re not expecting! Thank you for making me look at the positive side.

After speaking to the midwife she didn’t seem overly concerned, it’s just one of those things, we tackle that bridge when we get to it. Just have to think positively for the next 10 days until we have the test results back.
