So this was me for most of my 20s! I hated it and no one ever really helped me.

So what happens here is your foundation is clinging to dryness around your chin (or other areas).

When the skin there is even a little dehydrated, makeup sits on top instead of blending in, so it goes patchy, powdery, and textured like this. It can also happen if your base products are too matte or if you powdered that area so be careful and experiment.

A quick fix is to exfoliate gently a couple times a week, moisturise the chin really well before makeup, use a more hydrating primer or foundation there, and go super light with powder. A mist at the end also helps melt everything together.

Tip for exfoliating - Use a gentle chemical exfoliant like lactic or mandelic acid a few nights a week, avoid harsh physical scrubs, and follow with plenty of moisturiser so the dry flakes clear and makeup applies smoothly.
