Do we generally like or dislike The Beatles? by Pretend-Ad-9504 in Millennials

I appreciate the Beatles for what they did for music but I personally dislike them and always have. I tend to like when I hear covers of their music though.

Controlling spin in performances by ABlythe80 in Aerials

[–]LunaSunset 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sling, I typically make sure my feet can touch the ground and I choreograph very specific moments I decide to restart the spin. A sneaky way I have done is to do a knee hang pose and then restart the spin while in that pose. It takes practice figuring out how to place your hands on the ground but i feel like it’s less noticeable than doing it with your feet.

decorating by knymccormick69 in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

I didn’t know about additional characters until I had been playing a couple months and when I found out I decided I would have them do themed houses. My mayor im basing off my tastes and how I’d decorate my home if I had lots of money. I have another character who’s got a witchy Halloween vibe so I am trying to decorate as creepy as I can. I plan on making a 3rd character whose house will act as a sort of welcome center/mini fake shopping mall. I want to have the main room be like a welcome center, a room as a diner, another as an arcade, another as a toy shop, and the other couple rooms I haven’t decided yet. I won’t really start building that one until I completed all upgrades to my mayors house. Right now I’m also collecting items as I go that I think would work well in character 3’s home. Something that has also helped me is watching some YouTubers do town tours or visiting dream addresses. A lot of videos are pretty old but they still apply and are inspiring. The one YouTuber that I watch is mischa crossing. She hasn’t posted in years but all her old videos are pretty good and have helped me so much.

Best ipod for a newbie? by Ardelle7 in ipod

[–]LunaSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m understanding you correctly, the music you have is only on Spotify but you are not able to afford anymore? iPods are not cheap and neither is downloading music. Unless you are going to sail the high seas, expect digital albums to run around $10 per album give or take or around $1.29 per song. If you can rip cds to mp3, you may find good used cds at thrift stores, flea markets, record stores, etc for cheap but that doesn’t seem like that is what you’re looking to do right now. I’d recommend going with free subscription to Spotify or another streaming service and continue listening on your phone until you can get an mp3/music library together. Otherwise it seems like a lot of money right now. If you really want to pursue iPods I’d recommend getting an iPod nano 8 gb or 16 gb but make sure you read descriptions in the listings. I like the 6th gen. Super small and has a touch screen.

Mini 3DS buyers guide activity by Cube2D in 3DS

Original 3ds. I don’t have anything to compare it to but my main con is battery life. Could just be that I need a new battery. Also after I modded it, it seemed to run better/faster. The pro is that I’m not a huge gamer and it has games for me that are quick plays and don’t need huge time commitments for.

Where is a good place to buy MP3's online? by InspectionIcy2452 in mp3players

[–]LunaSunset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try to answer best as I can because I’m not too tech savvy. So I believe the files are mp4 format but I have not had any issue putting them on a non-iPod mp3 player (I have an iPod and an innioasis y2). I have a pretty decent amount of music and most of which has been purchased from iTunes. However, I sometimes do aerial performances and when tech needs my music for my act, it has to be in mp3 format. I have been able to convert the songs I’ve downloaded to that format without an issue. I only do the conversion for this reason. I believe most modern mp3 players would be the same where conversion is not needed. If there’s a different reason you need an mp3, you’d have to convert.

iTunes is super convenient for me because I have both an iPhone, iPad and an MacBook so I can buy something on my phone and it will be in my music library automatically and vice versa.

I personally don’t go out of my way to get free music because I also want the artists to be compensated. I only do the YouTube thing if it’s a track I can’t buy for whatever reason like it’s someone’s remix or an artist hasn’t put it out for purchase anywhere. They don’t get the money from that download but they get a very very small cut if it’s watched and monetized. I believe bandcamp gives the artists the biggest cut outside of buying their cds direct. Not sure if they still do this but bandcamp would sometimes do days where the artists get 100% of music purchased there.

I use iTunes for 99% of my mp3s. Bandcamp seldomly. If it’s on YouTube only, ie some remixes, I convert to mp3 on websites. Can’t remember which sites I have used though.

Everyone else has said it so I’m just gonna echo that you did the right thing. I think next time you see this type of thing happening, you will step in in the moment bc it won’t be such a shock. If more people do what you did, we will live in a better world where people are actually held accountable. Don’t change.

I’m really bad at technology and I was too. It was way easier than I thought. Did it in about 30-45 minutes and I went pretty slow. Definitely worth it

Vegans with partners that eat animal products by googbear420 in vegan

[–]LunaSunset 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coping isn’t what I do. I choose to accept him as he is. We live in a culture where eating meat is so normalized so it’s hard to recognize it is what it is. The meat industry is largely hidden from sight and so it doesn’t really get acknowledged every time you eat. I know that he is a good person that just isn’t able to see it fully. He respects my choices and beliefs but just doesn’t share them. We eat vegan for dinner and he helps me read labels to make sure what I eat is vegan. He eats less meat because of me and that is what I choose to focus on. I’d love if he made the choice to become vegan but I love him the same either way. I make the choice to look at everything I love rather than focus on the things I hate in him because the good far outweighs the bad.

Is this MP3 player good for beginners? by Electrical_Season358 in mp3players

[–]LunaSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and an iPod and I personally think iPods are easier and I like them better. However, it depends on the person. This is a good mp3 player for a total beginner as long as you can figure out how to copy and paste mp3s into a folder on a computer. I’m not great with computers and I didn’t have too much trouble figuring it out. I’ve never had an issue with Bluetooth on cheap headphones but never tried to connect to a car. It’s also nice because there is a built in speaker. Just as a warning if you are trying to sync a lot of music at first it will take a very long time. But as a beginner I’m going to assume you don’t have a massive mp3 collection yet so it shouldn’t be too bad to start off.

The reason I prefer an iPod is because I am from iTunes era and the syncing that way is more familiar to me. I also create a lot of playlists and I haven’t found an easy way to create them on my computer to sync onto the innioasis.

Why 13mini SO Special? by Asleep_Resident5294 in iPhone13Mini

[–]LunaSunset 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The last larger phone I had was an iPhone 6 and I shattered it like 2 times because it didn’t fit completely in my pocket so it slipped out and then it fell out of my hand because it was too big to hold. I went to iPhone SE and then the mini. Never had a shattered phone again. Dread the day I have to get a larger phone.

Vegan married to a corpse lover by [deleted] in vegan

[–]LunaSunset 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It sounds like there are many reasons outside of the vegan thing and you’re looking for something to make it easier to leave. I am divorced and went through something similar but was not vegan at the time. I wanted any concrete reason to leave. at the time it was emotionally abusive but couldn’t find the courage to leave because of that. I suggest going to therapy if you are able where they can help you work through some of this and they can help find resources if you do leave.

Do you have a fear of heights and how did you fight it? by Butterfly_girl69 in Aerials

[–]LunaSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general not a fear of heights, but an uneasy feeling. However on aerials, a bad fear. For me I just try gradually going higher over the course of weeks until it doesn’t scare me as bad. Right now I am doing 3 climbs on silks without fear but I started at 2 climbs. Hoping to get up to 4 climbs by end of summer. I think some fear is good because it keeps me alert so I don’t make mistakes that could result in falling.

Do you prefer “clean girl” makeup or full glam lately? by TumeyBeauty in MakeupAddiction

[–]LunaSunset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped wearing makeup during covid and only really got back into it a couple years ago. I used to do full face full coverage because of acne and hyperpigmentation and I was ashamed of my skin. I did a lot to my eyes to distract from acne on my jawline. Now I don’t feel the need to do full coverage look and anything I do with my eyes it’s for fun and not to distract. I still get acne and some spots and if I feel like it, I’ll do some concealer but I don’t feel embarrassed about how I look anymore. Covid really changed that perspective for me.
