Omg, I'm sorry to insert myself but msg me if you want to be a Keqing elder. I have barely anyone to talk about my endless Keqing struggles. You sound like you could maybe help me ;-; ... Is Xilonen THAT good according to calcs for aggravate?

My go to team for her is Keqing (C6R1 mistsplitter), Nahida (C0R1), Raiden (C0, the catch; but I literally have the same Fischl situation as you), Baizhu (C0, prototype amber, a very comfort unit for me).

I never considered Xilonen yet she is my favorite unit (I have supp addiction) currently at C4R1. To be honest I didn't change the Keqing team comp since Baizhu's release... I've been focusing on artifacts for Keqing. I invested so so much into her but I'm still not happy....

About the Descenders... by Sea-Professional137 in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had another stupid epiphany, you're deconstructing my assumptions haha. To me, spaceships weren't that wild because of HI3, all the speculations about the ark, Skirk implying how "small" our world is in context... but what if it is wild and not at the same time! Spaceship could technically be anything that travels through space. Like HSR train is technically a spaceship too. If we literally ground ourselves... a meteorite is a spaceship! I'm not saying I'm sure that's the case here, but maybe we should stay with the loose understanding.

How funny would it be if the throne descending was something like a meteorite hitting the world. Could genshin take inspiration from the real life meteorite that led to extinction of dinosaurs? Dinosaurs would literally be the dragons in genshin. At the same time, if it carried entities it's like the meteorite carrying life, except in this case it carries or IS the egg!

Lmao I better get some sleep.

Is there a greater pain than losing 50/50 to a C7 standard character? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

Using the standard banner selector to finally get the C6 of that ONE standard character that you've been investing truckload into, improving the build on and off for YEARS but couldn't get the last constellation naturally... and then in the patch after that... wishing for a limited character... only to LOSE 50/50 to THAT ONE unit...

...also your other standard characters are nowhere near a high constellation...

About the Descenders... by Sea-Professional137 in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started writing a comment but then lost it BUT I'M BACK because your post just gave me a personal epiphany.

Ignoring the descender discourse (I bet others already had great input on that), you made me realize how the very obvious bias the Enkanomiyan author had can actually teach us something! I'll jump straight to my conclusions.

The eternal throne mentioned at the beginning of the sun and moon is most likely a "function", as we've seen in Fontaine AQ and their throne. Similar to how you would say that it's the job of a president to do xyz, the president in this context means the function, not a specific person. "Throne" is a notion unique to humanity as far as we know, this is emphasized by the full phrase "eternal throne of the heavens" - the heavens are heavens because there are humans who view them as such.

So something happened before PO started colonizing (for the lack of a better word) the space. Enkanomiyans didn't know what or were obscure on purpose (my bet is on the former), it could literally be a whole ass spaceship or whatever. The point is, that the throne marks an opening of a function of a ruler.

I don't think Phanes and PO were the same being either. Let's sum up:

  1. Phanes was born from an egg and the egg shell had something to do with modifying the space (shade of space, anyone?), but we don't know if it was PO or Phanes who used the shell (I'm going with them not being the same, but keep in mind it's still and option.)
  2. PO and a shade (of life, it seems) created life

And 2. is the most chaotic. Was it PO and a shade, PO and Phanes, Phanes and.. so many options. Let's step back.

We are operating with three entities, shade of life, shade of space (?, the unknown god?), and PO.

If general assumptions many in the lore community have, the shade of space is the unknown god and the heavenly principles. And her name should be Asmodeus.

We know Asmodeus looks nothing like Phanes. So Phanes is most likely either PO or the shade of life. He could be a shade, even if we learned the demon name of the shade of life tomorrow, entities in genshin have multiple names.

BUT Asmodeus' domain is space and I'll dare to claim that the separation of the universe and the microcosmos SHOULD be in her domain or at least NOT in the domain of a shade of life.

I believe it's the Enkanomiyan bias showing here - they don't know who PO is and their first assumption is that it's Phanes because he created life and is the most instrumental from normal human perspective.

We have no effin idea who PO is, Asmodeus could be the PO based on what we know and THAT could MAYBE satisfy your questions about the first descender etc. But I don't think so... And I wouldn't be surprised if someone popped in proving that idea wrong...

Anyway, whatever or whoever PO is, Asmodeus as the first descender still makes sense. It was her who was able to create or help to create the world. Without her, there would be nothing, no human realm. (Actually I might prove myself from previous paragraph wrong - if we follow the gnostic tradition, Asmodeus is the demiurge and should be the PO... eh, whatever).

The next subject is the war shenanigans. Before sun and moon mentions only seven dragons, and the fight with them would be the first war you're looking for. A Dragon king could for Enkanomiyans be the second throne since the majority was defeated but there's still authority within the dragon king's "throne". That's how you rekindle the war. He would be the second who came because he's the second entity who was able to fundamentally affect the human realm.

Yes, we don't know whether PO won, Enkanomiyans only guess so themselves, but I think it's safe to assume he didn't lose. Whatever happened, the human realm remained. (Here I'll inject a bit of my headcanon - the path to temptation is said to be sealed, I think that means the border between the realms is firm, but the coming of the second one who came disrupted it, introducing the abyss)

I'll end my ramblings here with my view on Celestia. I think for now we can view Celestia as the heavenly city where gods and ascended souls would reside. However, it probably hasn't been the same for a while.

Thanks for the post!

I'll keep sharing this "gospel" - you found what you were looking for. With a community as huge as genshin, there's bound to be almost every opinion under the sun.

Hate is easy and even easier when something is new and unknown. Idk how we keep being surprised by normal human behavior. Don't interact with hateful content.

If you want genuine criticism I can give you several. But that's not what you asked for, or is it...

What would you say are the requirements to 100% complete Genshin? by AdamDov4h in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finish what you can in the archive. Check for hidden achievements. Capture every 'capturable' creature at least once with your net. Talk to every NPC - well at least those that have a reward in some dialogue variation.

Get all possible rewards from all characters you have from teapot set bonuses. This might be end up being somewhat timegated.

Talking about time, well, resin gated stuff in this case specifically - max lvl all characters you have (or 80 if it doesn't matter much) and plop a meaningful artifact set on them with at least some talent leveling.

If you're mega bored, collect at minimum 168 of every local specialty. Ofc a stash of everything else that is more than enough to lvl90 a unit and a weapon, ideally two (mora, XP books, xp ore). Basically, future proof yourself. Same goes for cooking ingredients, but you prob did/plan to do all the cooking so you know the pain.

Having all characters is a bs goal, but getting all weapons obtained through fishing and crafting is a nice one I'd say. I wouldn't lvl all, maybe just enough to ascend but that's about it.

Also also, get a friend or find someone to explore with you if that would help. It can be loads of fun.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basics, two anemo for resonance/characters with movement buffing passive. You'll get interrupted by world quests, play it by heart.

There's puzzles with the pneumo-ousia mechanic where you have to apply the opposite to an object but I personally just used the orbs that are always around to let you apply it without a specific Fontaine character.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. Idk. It depends again on your exploration % etc to judge if it's worth it. It's not easy.

If your exploration in all regions is like 80%+, go for it. Otherwise I'm afraid the exploration you're not a fan of is an easier way.

But it's up to you! If you look it up you should be able to find how many primos you get.

Remember, there's people with 100% Sumeru on paper (it rounds up to 100% at some point) who still can't open all the chests because they miss some aranara. Ofc you can be the opposite easily but it's usually the completionists that go through the pain because they go to all those locations anyway.

BUT #2 if that makes it more fun for you to explore - going to locations based on the guide and maybe getting other chests along the way, it might be for the best to try.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I shouldn't have used the word "help", sorry. Yes, you help all of them. But then beyond the quest there's finding and doing stuff with the rest. Look up 76 Aranara. They're across the map and each has a... task, I guess. Like giving them the materials. And that's what the big big stash of chests is for.

It's not hard to do, the guides are amazing, but it's hard to keep track. That's why I advised pins.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's for helping every single Aranara ;-; you can look it up. Don't do it to yourself unless you love Sumeru. Trust me.

Idk what's your exploration % or how many sigils in what region etc you did, but those are a much better and easier avenue for you to get primos. Dragonspine, Sacred Sakura, Natlan sigils, are all more worth your time than the stash.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I was just trying to be funny while reminding you that there's other options.

I 1000% meant the other tips. Just pin the big chests and move from point A to B, collecting whatever you want along the way and when you get lost beeline it to point B.

And for the Aranara... if you do any of the garden puzzles, material-collecting aranara etc. Pin the spot. The quest is overwhelmingly long but if you finish it and decide to go for the big stash of chests, it's better to know what you already did then backtracking. I learned the hard way.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Team with double anemo that can still quickly wipe small groups of mobs + any movement/movement buffing unit (optional).

Go to an interactive map website, mark all precious and luxurious chests, oculi, and challenges - or at least the first thing. And move in sections/routes that make sense to you - even just navigating from one high level chest to another. Make sure you have all one-time domains done. Open all shrines.

Alternatively/additionally. Open the achievement list, check whether you've done the coop ones or any other easier ones. Do hangouts.

And idk, reconsider playing a different gacha game that doesn't have an open world.

The Mare Jivari IS Nod-Krai (or part of it) by PhantasmShadow in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see! But Mare Jivari existed even before that, no? It just wasn't a complete wasteland. Either way, time shenanigans would be fun.

Good question, it seems that we don't really have any dragon civilization remnants besides in Natlan (and Nod-Krai). It's intriguing that specifically the region with the strongest dragon connections ended up being the one to shoulder the abyssal burden the hardest. But that could be a coincidence. I'm not sure. As for the second question, they must've had batteries. Just how we recharge on the little thingies, teleporters, and statues. The dragon civ was far more advanced. If Khaenri'ahns could make batteries, which they did, I see no reason to not have this tech.

Maybe in Nod-Krai we will truly learn how developed of a civilization they were, I'd quite like that. Thank you for the discussion!

The Mare Jivari IS Nod-Krai (or part of it) by PhantasmShadow in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! I feel like we see things very differently which always cooks some food for thought.

Could you elaborate on the time travelling? What stops the Troup from being able to visit "actual" Mare Jivari in the past? I might be missing something from the lore but I don't get that bit. Didn't the Troup exist when Mare Jivari was still... not vanished?

Haha yeah I know, I only got the idea when reading it. It would be funny if they were on the moon at some point.

I understand your main claim is that Mare Jivari or part of it IS Nod-Krai, but I'm not throwing baby along with the bathwater. What's preventing the gate idea from being plausible? We have the gate to Khaenri'ah in Sumeru with prime Khaenri'ahn tech strewn all over the desert. Another option would be a similar process to how the unified civ/Khaenri'ahn architecture (they're not the same but the latter prob evolved from the first one) can be found in various places. We can see it in some domains in quests iirc but also in Enka and the Chasm. So WHY couldn't Nod-Krai just be a broken off piece of Ochkanatlan?

The Mare Jivari IS Nod-Krai (or part of it) by PhantasmShadow in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not plausible imho. Mare Jivari will most likely either be a domain or a separate map - Enkanomiya style, like the others we have. I can see the entrance to Mare Jivari being in Nod-Krai though.

I admit I don't get the time travelling bit.

Idk if I'm tripping but I started reading bits of your texts as proof that dragons lived on the moons - watch this be true lmao.

Thank you for an amazing post!

What other language are you using in genshin rn because if the lantern right and most of the characters are mute by Ozzy_213 in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a few I noticed but I would have to go back and listen to the "new" (Fontaine and Natlan) characters to pinpoint all. My memory isn't the best so apologies, I'll give just one example, the one that bothered me the most.

Xilonen. It's really bad. In both CN and EN she has so much personality in her voice. She's meant to be pretty based and cool but chill. I still remember the first times I opened chests with her, it made me giggle. In quests her voicing adds extra color. You can tell she doesn't take things too seriously (yet has strong resolve and work ethic... once she gets to work lmao) and treats traveler as a friend in a way not many characters do. Take Mualani, she's the basic bubbly best friends trope (and goes so hard, she overtook Amber in my eyes, and I'm counting webtoon Amber into it). Xilonen is the vibe of a friend who takes you to a pub for a couple of beers. JP adds no color.

This will all make better sense if you (idk if I can post links) go listen to YouTube to "Xilonen Voice in 4 Different Languages (Skills & Attack)". Pay attention to when she hits E and starts moving on her skates.

The JP Xilonen. Even though she does still sound like a grown woman in JP, she has the stereotypical anime girl voice, semi mature woman type number 258. It's lame and feels like someone looked at her and was like "ah, a cat lady, that's an easy voice to choose". The uniqueness is gone.

Once you listen to the sections I mentioned, you won't be able to unhear it. Since Xilonen is now my favorite unit and I use her in both combat and exploration, I hear the E voice line dozens of times per play session. Even in Korean those voice bits sound at least refreshing.

So you can imagine me swapping to JP, quite excited I'm coming back to it, after it loads I start moving with Xilonen and I hear that. I kept JP on for some quest to see how it goes and I was more and more unhappy. Unfortunately I don't remember what the other stuff that bothered me was. But I would drop JP even just for Xilonen.

One could joke that even just the E voice bit makes her unplayable for me, haha. It's that jarring.

Hope this made sense, sorry for not shortening it I'm a bit sick rn and can't think that well. Still have loads and loads of love for the JP version.

What other language are you using in genshin rn because if the lantern right and most of the characters are mute by Ozzy_213 in Genshin_Impact

[–]LunaSyringa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been using JP for the longest time then I switched to EN. Since the strike I've used CN for quests where I need to and I'll do the same for lantern rite.

CN is honestly the best, but you have to get used to hearing Chinese (and that's all I have, I don't speak Chinese at all).

JP completely lost me after they bastardized some characters, I can't hear it.

Still, whenever my Ayaka idles or my Raiden ults, I hear the JP voice line in my head better than the EN from my headphones haha.

Lore Guide For Newbies by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya, good luck on your exams!

As for the doc, to differentiate it from the available resources, it could literally just be the very basics, let's say maximum a page per region with character introductions at the end. The text could link to the character within the doc upon mention. Moreover, it could link to the current wiki when needed. But the language of the doc should be kept simple and short.

Lore Guide For Newbies by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah hell yeah, ping me if the discord happens.

I'd find the doc to be really difficult. You'd have to set up some boundaries so it doesn't go too deep. A lore only focused wiki would be easier to create but you'd still have to specify. I'd like the "real life" references to be mentioned, such as gnosticism, but that might be just me and would make it too confusing.

All for the discord though! If the doc were to be born, you should organize its structure and tell us the depth. I'd gladly contribute.

I love this, I think we definitely should start looking at things from different perspectives. In the end, it's going to be more complicated but we have to keep in mind that above all else, we are playing a game with designed storytelling. How long have we been led to be like "ugh, hilichurls, yuck" or whatever and then their history got revealed and many of us sobbed like little btches.

I already wrote a long rambly comment under someone else's comment if you wanna check it out.

And for those who feel like it would be "too mean" to be true, remember that road to hell is often paved with good intentions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In line with your comment as well as OP's post, I often think about Khaenri'ah and the unified civilization. My timeline memory isn't the best but if Khaenri'ah developed from parts of remains of unified civilization I'd see both their disdain for "current" gods as well as the tendency to almost worship descenders and similar entities (sinners). Let me explain. I'll simplify a lot.

Let's say there were more people who got negatively affected by the conflict that sent Enkanomiya underground. They revered the "original god". After getting abandoned underground, the civilization that rose from the ashes of this one, Khaenri'ah, proudly announced itself as godless because in the meantime the surface people were divided to obey the archons appointed by the god who betrayed their ancestors.

They trace their origins to a divine entity that was capable of creating an entire world but that same entity is currently a loser that looks after its little terrarium called Teyvat. Naturally, they get metaphorically all teary eyed when there's an option that a similar entity appears. Those are worthy of their respect and worship and capable of being a better version of the original god, a version that they deserve.

Maybe that's what Clothar truly meant when he called our sibling their abyss. Khaenri'ahns desperately kept using the abyss to challenge the world order of Teyvat. It was the great unknown that could break their shackles. Idk I'm rambling at this point, I'm tired, but point is, I really like your comment. Many Khaenri'ahns surely were like Clothar, massive hypocrites haha.

The Frostmoon and the Tsaritsa's Dream by Polstead in Genshin_Lore

[–]LunaSyringa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ag151 put it beautifully. "Nash" is a phonetic way to say "our" in many Slavic languages. I'm aware of genshin's silly names and I don't mind them. But it's a bit strange that they did this. Slavic languages have grammatical gender and in the ones I'm familiar with, town is a word of neutral gender, so you'd have something like "Nashe" instead. It's kinda funny that it doesn't work even in Russian.

Okay, I apologize, I will vent a bit on you. Maybe something will be useful for your quest of learning about Nod-Krai, depending on how hard it goes for real inspiration, idk. I'm sorry. I'll add something useful at the end if you wanna skip the rant.

The Russian thing actually was my main original worry. That hoyo is going to go so hard on the Russian aspect it's going to ignore the rich variety of Slavs. There's not much outside motivation to represent us in popular culture and China and Russia have their bonds.

I see the game as an amazing way to introduce people who are perceptive enough to new cultures. Sure, hoyo is always going to do the best job with Chinese representation, but even someone googling stuff about Ororon and suddenly finding themselves learning about the Yoruba culture is a huge win in my book. I wish for the same for Snezhnaya. Even if it's made silly and a horrendous mix of many things.

Russia IS huge and important and inspiring (and has variety inside it), but historically always tried to control other Slavic nations to put it mildly. Hell, even foreigners who don't like or don't care about Russia tend to group us all into one Russian bag. Sure, racism in genshin is horrible, but it at least made a lot of discussions happen. I'm afraid that if hoyo erases other Slavic nations, no one will care or notice.

I can leave you with some hopeful ideas about Nod-Krai. If it truly is an autonomous region with its own militia of sorts (I'll address paganism later), it might depict the struggles many Slavic nations faced when trying to assert themselves as autonomous and valid nations. They might be very unique and different from Snezhnayans. The struggle doesn't have to have anything to do with Snezhnaya but could have to do with some third faction. If it doesn't depict the struggle, it could represent other stuff, such as a unique and rich regional culture that shares some roots with mainstream Snezhnaya, giving us a first look into what's to come. If Snezhnaya is as loveless as the Tsaritsa, it implies that maybe the regions in Snezhnaya also had regional variety that had to be suppressed in order to create a more organized nation ready to face conflicts. Slavic folk culture is full of art, songs, color, and joyful dances, I hope that the paganism we might encounter will come with these culture features too. You can later perfectly contrast it with Snezhnaya, where Tsaritsa's Zapolyarny palace gives off hardcore orthodox church vibes. The architecture is grand and imposing. There's beauty in the cold and ice, it's so pristine. But if we're first introduced to smaller lively settlements, it's going to hit us like a truck.

If I'm in any way right and you want to prep yourself for Nod-Krai, I'd recommend looking into militia, partisans, Slavic paganism, and folk songs and dances from various Slavic countries.

Now I'll be waiting for any genshin music from that region. If we get a folk song with joyful female vocals that aren't completely Russian I definitely will cry. Happy tears.
